Dragon Mail September 14

Welcome New Students for 2012-13!
Updates from HoS&Board:
Thanks to Steve with The City of Ft. Collins for his prompt response to our
request to set the School Zone light to match our start and end times .
Only 2 more weeks until the October 1st Count Date! Our goal is 340
students by then! We will have special rewards for the school and classes when
we reach our goal (: Congratulations to : Dawn in 6th g. who recruited 2 students
this week! Her name is in the ipad drawing. Please help promote TPAAK
wherever you go! Pick up your TPAAK postcards in the front office along with
our TPAAK posters to distribute!
Our 1st Paragon Adventure Night is next week, Tuesday Sept. 18! Please
note the change in times for stage performances (4th gr. 5:00 and 5th gr. 5:25
).After the second show please join us for A Burrito Dinner sold by PTLO
at 6-7 pm and visit all the classrooms to see their museum presentations. Each
dinner ticket that is purchased will be entered into a drawing for a surprise Gift
Card pack at the conclusion of the meal. Join your school friends for a Mexican
Dinner Night!!! Students can come in costume (some costumes are made in class
and those that are not should home made), attend both stage performances, then
go to their museum to share what they learned. Remember, the class with the
largest percentage of adult guests signed in their room gets to have Flame the
Dragon in their class for a month, their class name in Dragon Mail, and an
announcement and class picture at Respect Assembly! Make plans to attend and
bring a friend (: P.S. Students in CHAMPIONS who perform on the stage will be
dismissed to perform, the rest of the students will be taken to watch the stage
performances, but they will not be released to go to their museum rooms. Please
pick up your child from CHAMPIONS no later than 6 PM pm on Paragon Nights
so they can join their class in showing what they know.
TPAAK eLearning Days!
Friday, September 21st is TPAAK’s first eLearning Day! In an effort to
combine Teacher Professional Development Days with a day that still counts as a
student contact day, while preparing students with 21st century skills Teachers
will be at school in training and students will be at home doing school work,
some of which will be online.
Parents will need to have a computer available to their student, at least part of the
day. This can be a home computer, a friend or relatives’ computer or with a public
library card you can use one of their computers. Students who will be in
CHAMPIONS this day ( you have to be registered 48 hours in advance) will have
time to use the computer lab at TPAAK. Parents may supervise their student in
the TPAAK Lab between 7;45-3:45 Friday.
Teachers will be sending home the assignments in next Monday’s folder and
electronically along with any log in information needed and details regarding
how to turn in the assignments for that day. Below is information if you need to
use the public library computers. Thank you toall the families who attended the
eLearning information meeting!

Every school is required by the state to have a School
Accountability Committee (SAC). The SAC is required to have
Teachers/Staff, parent, and business partner members. Last year, we had
2 business partners and this year both of them are no longer able to
participate. If you know a community member who has their own business
or is a leader in a company (they do not need to be a parent but can be)
that you think would be interested in serving on this team (we meet after
school 4 times a year to look at school business i.e. budget, enrollment
etc.) please give them my contact info or give me theirs. Our 1st mtg. is
Thursday September 27. We will put this in Dragon Mail as well. Thank
you, Mrs. Griffin
