Dear Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Parents and Carers
Residential Trips
I wrote to you earlier about the residential trips that we have traditionally taken in year 3 and 6,
because decisions we make now will affect the trips for your children when they are in those year
groups.
Thank you to all of you who replied using the reply slips. The results are as follows:

72% of parents said they would prefer not to have a residential trip in Year 3

76% of parents said they would prefer to keep the current residential trip in Year 6.
For this reason we will be stopping the trip to Kingswood in Year 3. The current Year 2 children and
future years will not go on this trip. We will look into other possibilities and choose an alternative trip
or activity for Year 3 that will be more cost effective.
Year 6 will still go to PGL, but parents will have longer to cover the cost of this trip as we will start
the process sooner. We will always try to get the best deal for this trip and will go to different
centres if we need to. In the past we have gone to PGL Liddington and PGL ‘Little Canada’ on the
Isle of Wight.
