Mrs Skea – Librarian
First Job – Chambermaid @ £1.13
Went on to work as an Archaeologist
Best Job – Archaeological dig in Wales for 3
months in the rain!
Worst Job – Holiday Inn Glasgow cleaning 16
rooms in 4 hours!
Guess who?
Mr Quiros – Spanish teacher
First Job - Giving tennis lessons- after school
Studied English Literature at Cadiz University and teacher training at
Newcastle Uni.
Best Job – working a teaching assistant, my first experience as a
teacher in a quiet atmosphere!
Worst Job – working a s a language tutor earrning 5 euros per hour
going from house to house for hours on end.
Guess who?
Mr Crawford - Teacher
First Job – working in the local grocery store – though sacked for eating too many pineapple
cakes!
Worked in Banking for 17 years and became the Manager of the chief Glasgow branch!
Best Job – Teaching! But in Exeter the bank had an indoor bowling alley, table tennis, darts
and old fashioned jukebox as well as a bar!
Worst Job – working at the fruit market in Glasgow for 40p per hour!!
Was once chased round Carstairs by a naked 60yr old woman brandishing a bread knife!
Guess who?
Mrs Fagan – Teacher
First Job – Local Newsagent shop 9 till 6pm on a Saturday and 9 Till 1pm
on a Sunday!
Studied Politics at Aberdeen University for 4 years, worked in the body shop,
Boots and as a school cleaner! Joined the graduate training programme in
Safeway's superstores then worked as a Human Resource manager for 6 years!
Worked early shift 6am till 3pm, Backshift 1pm till 10pm and most weekends and
holidays.
Best Job –Teaching – most rewarding even though tough at times –
marking is murder!
Worst Job – working a s a language tutor earning 5 euros per hour going
from house to house for hours on end.

Work experience!
• All S3 into S4 pupils have an entitlement to
a Work Experience. It provides young
people with the opportunity to gain relevant
skills, attributes and experiences before
entering the World of Work.
• Last year the vast majority of pupils
embarking on their Work Experience were

Work experience - deadline
• Monday 23rd May
• Pay particular attention to Section 6 on Insurance details.
• All employers must have a current Employers Liability
Policy and a photocopy provided.
• It must be signed by the relevant person in Section 9.
• Completed forms must then be returned to me at the
school or by email.
