I once owned a 1975 Pontiac Firebird. It was a pretty basic model,
with a 350 c.i. engine and 2-barrel carb. But it was glossy white
with red and orange pin-striping, a white leatherette interior
and it had cool-looking mag wheels. It looked like a show car and
when I drove down the street it turned heads. We had to sell it
when we bought a house in order to afford the down payment.
The only problem with the car was that it didn’t run very well
when it was cold. Interested buyers who came to look at it saw
that it looked nice, but once they drove it they walked away. I
finally had to sell it for much less than I was hoping to.

PRAISE & PRAYER
Senior Pastor:
REV. MARK WOODS
Associate Pastor: REV. JONATHAN KROEKER
Youth Pastor:
BEN CLOUSTON
Office Administrator:
BEV SHERIDAN
THIS MORNING:
 Pray for our shut-ins: ROSE-ANN L. and FREDA B..
 Pray for PAUL & TANYA G., and local believers who will develop facilities
and establish a camping ministry in Romania and provide settings for
leadership development.
 Give thanks for all our mothers and pray for them as they faithfully
raise their children to honour God.
When it comes to religious observance, a lot of people are like
that Firebird. They look really good on the outside. They give,
they pray, they sing, they serve, and they talk. Man, can they talk.
They can throw around high-sounding Biblical language that will
make you feel like a spiritual worm. But inside they don’t run so
good. Jesus called them hypocrites. And he said there’s a better
way to win God’s favour. That’s what we want to look at today as
we consider what it means to have true religion.

MISSIONARY OF THE WEEK
SATURDAY, JUNE 3RD
June 3 is our annual Community BBQ
where we express Christ’s free love
to our community. Last year we
served 300 hot dogs and smokies.
We need people to serve by holding
signs, serving food, working in the
kitchen and talking to our neighbours.
We also will have a large supply of
free Bibles. Last year we could not
keep up with the demand. Everyone
12 or older is invited to help. Sign up
today in the foyer to serve at the BBQ
and/or bring baking, or talk to
Andrea K.
PRAY FOR MUSLIMS
You can be instrumental in reaching
Muslims for Christ through prayer!
Muslim Prayer Guides are available
from Christoph K. in the lobby after
the service. Pick yours up for $2.25.

GARY CLATTERBUCK
FIELD COORDINATOR, RUSSIA
Gary Clatterbuck is the field
coordinator for Russia, working under
the Moscow Theological Seminary
and providing teachers, upon request,
to ten different Learning Centers
across Russia. He continues to work
with MTS to plan future ways
consultants can serve the developing
leaders in all of Russia, though there
is some uncertainty concerning a law
that passed last summer calling for
tighter restrictions on missionaries
and evangelism. Pray for the cases
working their way through the courts,
as well as the hearts and actions of
Russia’s leaders. Due to the
precarious nature of the situation
because of the new law, please don’t
social media. Find out more about
Gary’s
work
