Review again June
2017
Tiya had raised the problem to Mrs
Hall that library club was not as
well attended now the weather was
better. Rather than close the club
and have no access Taylor
suggested we could use it in a
lesson time. This was agreed by the
school council and Mrs Hall.
Mrs Hall to arrange
library time for each
class across the week.
The youngest children had
requested time to draw and colour
and write and the older children
wanted a turn with the lego. Archie
discussed that playtime continued
to work well and that all the active
games at lunchtime were really
good.
ICT club was still wanted. Archie
suggested a sporting club as the
weather would be better so this
may be good to use outside. All the
group agreed.
Ashley agreed but said she liked it
better when it was their turn on
the ‘astro’, but it was fair because
The new clubs
suggestions would be
shared with teachers
and a rota put
together for the
Summer Term.

Development Plan
To have challenging lessons in Maths which help us to use our reasoning skills and
solve problems.
The Math scheme is challenging with some parts being ‘really hard’. It is helpful when
the teacher works through parts with you so you can achieve the challenge and then
move on when you’ve got it. Sometimes working in pairs works really well to talk about
the problem when you get to reasoning. Some problem solving is a bit hard if you find
fluency difficult and you might not get to it. Teachers help you though to make sure
you are not stuck.
Next steps: To get better at problem solving as many people are now getting to
reasoning. In the beginning it was hard to get past fluency, but we are all getting
better.
To have opportunities to read, share and develop our skills as readers and
writers.
The library looks really good and we have books that people want to read now. It’s a
nice place to work and use. ‘I like learning in here.’ Reading every morning is a good
way to start the day. Everybody in our classrooms knows what they are doing each
morning as the reading job is ready. Most people like writing in English. Our partner
tells us how to improve and our teachers help us to improve our writing. We learn in
our SPAG lessons what we could include in each style of writing and have to try our
best to find it in the examples.
Next steps: As the weather is becoming better people want to play out all lunchtime
so are not using the library clubs. Can we have a time to use it in class instead?
To work together to improve the outdoor learning space for the Robins.
It looks better for the Robins and they all seem to really like it. We asked the
children and they like to use their playground at lunchtime as they have more to play
with. The plants look really nice and the children are learning about growing.
Next steps: School council to do a tour of improvements as not all of the council felt
they knew enough about the recent improvements.
To make sure everybody knows how to be safe and who can help them.
Mrs Hall shared with the council that a Health and Safety review had been completed
by the LA and a Governor. They were pleased it had gone well and that any actions
identified had been completed.
The digital leaders have been appointed and are ready to develop their work with
Miss Groom. It was agreed that term the digital leaders should update children,
teachers and parents on how to be safe.
The council said that the posters help all the children know who to see if they have a
problem, but thought it was a good idea to keep reminding everybody about who to
speak to if you do not feel safe.
Next steps: School Council representative to participate in the next health and
safety learning walk.
To use our Christian values in all that we do.
The liturgies are used and the challenges are completed every week in every
classroom. Worship with Rev Andy and Rev Mo are very popular and they like the
little plays they do each week. Children like to participate in worship and volunteer
for role play. It is hoped we will have another shared worship day with Sigglesthorne
and Skirlaugh. This will be planned at the parish partners meeting with Rev Andy and
Rev Mo.
Next steps: It was agreed that four representatives would attend the next Parish
Partners meeting instead of just two. This will allow more people to share in the
plans.
