completed a risk assessment in York (full
assessment of accommodation, visited all
attractions, walked the routes etc.)
 Put together an itinerary which
encompasses back up plans.

Itinerary
Monday 3rd July:
 Children to meet at Highams Park Station carpark at
7:00am. We will take the train to Liverpool Street and
change for Kings Cross. Leave on 9:08am train from
London Kings Cross. If your child suffers from travel
sickness, give non-drowsy travel sickness tablets in
the morning.






Arrive in York at approximately 11:30am.
Make way to accommodation, unpack and have lunch.
Visit to York Minster.

 Pack up apartments, leave bags in storage.
 Activities include: Railway Museum

 Leave York at 2:02pm
 Arrive at London Kings Cross at 4:25pm
 Arrive at Highams Park station at approximately
5:45-6:00pm
 Children to be collected from the car park at the
station.

Waterproof jacket with hood, scarf, gloves (if the weather forecast is for cold weather) Cap/ hat (in case of
sunshine)
Toiletries- toothbrush and toothpaste/ soap etc.
Small towel
£15 pocket money (maximum) (2x £5.00, 4x£1.00, 4x20p and 2x10p)
Camera- optional (disposable or digital, if digital, please ensure the camera is clearly labelled- NO
MOBILE PHONES)
A small back pack will be useful to carry packed lunch, water etc during the day.
Full home address, 1st class stamp and pen
Medication- given to Ms. McIntyre on Friday 30 June morning at 8.45am / 3.30pm (travel sickness if
required)
*Bedding is provided in the apartment
*Mobile phones or electronic games are not allowed.
Pupils will be required to carry their own bag on/off the train and whilst walking to/from
the apartments. A small case with wheels is therefore advised. All children are responsible
for their own belongings throughout the duration of the trip.
Keeping in contact:
 Regular contact will be made with the
school via telephone.
 Updates will be put on the website.

Preparing your child...
 Behaviour: expectations are the same as in
school, irresponsible and poor behaviour will
not be tolerated and children will be escorted
home, if necessary.(The cost of this will be
paid for by the parent)
 Bed times and sleeping expectations- strictly
adhered to.
 Being tolerant of each other.
 Managing time and belongings.
 Reassuring your child about who to go to for
help/ if they are worried.
Last but not least...
• Completed medical forms and menu choices
returned to the school office by Thursday
22nd June 2017.

residential without a correctly completed
medical form
