What are the Community
Games?
• The games are a childcentred organisation that
focus on participation
rather than winning.
• Children compete in
friendly rivalry, in a fun and
healthy way across a range
of sports and cultural
activities.
• The games can be seen
from both a local and
national level.
• Children from the age of 6
to 16 take part across the
games.de range of activities.
How did the Community Games begin?
• They began in 1967 with the aim of allowing
children to use their free time in a productive
and enjoyable manner.
• The Community Games is a non profitable
organisation which depends solely on
volunteers to organise and run the events
every year.
