Changes have been made to simplify and expedite the residenc y and registration process
for the 2017-2018 school year. These changes include opening up the online InfoSnap site
earlier, allowing for online payment of fees through PushCoin and adding evening hours to
On-site School Registration. Please review the information below to familiarize yourself

Cardiac Screening Event at Hinsdale Central
On September 7, 2017 Hinsdale Central students will have the opportunity for a cardiac
screening assessment. The cardiac screening event is being administered through the
generous donations of the just1mike Foundation, Good Samaritan Hospital and Young
Hearts for Life. Michael Brindley, Class of 2018, tragically died on June 22 2016. A rising
junior at Hinsdale Central Michael's life and memory will be carried forward through
just1mike, a non-profit private foundation. Just1mike will help to raise awareness and fund
testing for the prevention of sudden cardiac death in teens as well as work to provide AED
equipment, training and emergenc y preparedness plans for a cardiac event.
Good Samaritan Hospital and Young Hearts for Life reached out to Hinsdale Central to
host a cardiac screening event. The cardiac screenings will be for EVERY student at
Hinsdale Central. A not for profit foundation, Young Hearts for Life will bring the screening
opportunity to Hinsdale Central in the fall of 2017 at no cost to students or our student's
family. Through generous donors, Young Hearts for Life is able to provide cardiac
screenings for less than $5 per child. To learn more about Young Hearts for Life and to

As a parent you have the opportunity to register your child for an early detection cardiac
screening. In addition, you as a parent can volunteer to be a part of this program and
support the students of Hinsdale Central High School. As a volunteer you will be trained to
administer a cardiac screening and then work at least one 3 -hour shift on September 7,
2017. Volunteers can go to Hinsdale Central's Signup.com web site and sign up for their
time for the training session, as well as which shift they would like to work the day of the
screening.

Summer Reading 2017
W elcome you to the 2017 Summer Reading Program. W e are a culture of readers at
Hinsdale Central, and we are excited to announce that our program has changed in a
couple of ways. First, we’ve expanded our book lists to ten choices for each grade
level. Second, we’ve asked teachers and staff members in all departments at Hinsdale
Central to recommend books, based on themes for each level. Because of these changes,
students have a wide range of books to choose from. Read the introductory letter here


Pushcoin Wallet
W ith the end of the year quickly approaching, we want to share with you some important
information about any remaining balance you might have in your student’s PushCoin
wallet. You can go to www.PushCoin.com to check your current balance. If you have never
set up access to your student’s PushCoin account, you can find information on how to do
that here.
For continuing students, any remaining wallet balance will simply roll over to the 2017 -18
school year. Any monies rolled forward can b e used any time for student expenditures
such as meal purchases, fees assessed at registration and field trips.
Parents of graduating seniors can request a transfer of the balance to a sibling or request
a refund. For students transferring out of District 86, parents should submit a refund
request.
Graduating Seniors/Students Transferring out of District 86:
1. Request a refund or transfer to a sibling by logging in to your PushCoin wallet
2. For either transaction, click on the dollar amount under W allet Balance
3. Complete the information as instructed
Note that no automatic refunds will occur. ALL refunds will be made by check to the
requestor. The actual refund amount may reflect any pending charges on the account.
Allow four weeks for processing of your refund.
