Course Objective
To introduce the student to the essentials of decision making related with management
activities. Student will apply their expertise for analyzing several operations management
decision problems.

Course Description: Introduces the types of problems and issues encountered by the operations manager. Discusses
various models and techniques but emphasises problem formulation and managerial implications Understand
techniques in decision making and know how the successful operations manager uses these techniques. A
general overview of operations research, with selected applications from engineering and management
systems, and interdisciplinary areas. The methodology of mathematical modeling and its relation to problems
in industrial, commercial, and public systems. During the semester, numerous handouts will be distributed
