Must-Haves: Passionate o Passion for what you do and for doing your best o Passion for our products and the success of our team o Passion for researching new, emerging technologies and applying them to solve real business problems o Drive to improve your skills and teach others what you learn Collaborative o Thrive in collaborative environments o Able to communicate ideas to people from different disciplines o Be a key contributor o o o o Able to work as part of a cross-functional team in a regulated environment Earn trust through technical and functional expertise and a commitment to issue resolution and project delivery Able to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of resources, including management, clients, and other departments Able to interpret communication styles of team members and clients from a broad spectrum of disciplines Professional and Responsible o Ownership of responsibilities and commitments o Able to learn our products o Interest in emerging technologies and how they might solve real business problems o Comfortable with shifting priorities, demands, and timelines o Analytical and problem-solving skills o Able to exert discrete responsibility for the protection of our production environment o Resolve issues diplomatically in a logical manner Experienced o Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, technology, or related field o 3+ years supporting SaaS solutions o Working technical knowledge of basic SaaS technologies (virtualization, databases, etc.), and reading system and application log files o Knowledge of some (or all) of the following technologies: VMware, OpenStack, Chef, Nginx, Apache, EC2 Linux, RPM Management, Windows Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Rabbit MQ, TokuDB Nice-To-Haves: Experience working in a regulated environment Experience with 24/7 mission-critical environments Expect to: Production Operations Responsible for all aspects of 24/7 operations and platform services in a highavailability environment (includes monitoring/alerting, log aggregation, operations tools, and incident/problem management) Responsible for all aspects of the release management architecture for all applications Responsible for maintenance and continuous improvements to current configuration management practices Responsible for capacity measurements and planning Responsible for performance management of systems and applications Serve as project manager for upgrades and special projects Manage environment builds, propagation methods, and toolsets for maintenance and on-going operations of these environments Maintain operations schedule, including scheduled maintenance, service events, and communication with customers Monitor system/application/solution status to identify when production systems are down or not functioning Guidance and vendor management for infrastructure projects Security assessment and enforcement within all production environments Collaborate with the design team in the context of achieving shared objectives Work with support, engineering, quality, and commercial operations in problem troubleshooting, root-cause determination, problem remediation, and issue resolution Internal IT Operations Plan, direct, and manage the daily operations of the company’s internal IT team Evaluate, manage, and recommend core infrastructure and tools including servers, workstations, printers, telecommunications, and other devices Recommend appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure uninterrupted systems usage and proper backup and recovery procedures are adhered to Maintain organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting procedures for implementing information technologies Lead support personnel who troubleshoot IT issues Implement policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, distributed, and corrected Able to gain an understanding of operational processes and needs as it relates to technology and communication equipment, and work effectively with operational staff in the coordination of IT projects and identifying operational technology needs Maintain working relationships with vendors and third-party providers, ensuring contracts are kept up to date and cost maintenance strategies are assessed and analyzed on a periodic basis Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
