Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE)
The Program places a unique focus on the special economic, political
and ethical aspects of policy formation in private and public sectors, in
this age of accelerating commercial and informational globalization. To
understand social phenomena, one must take into account several
complementary disciplinary directions and analytical frameworks. In this
regard, the study of Philosophy equips students with tools such as the
ability to reason rigorously and logically, and to facilitate ethical reflection.
The study of political science puts students in a position to evaluate the
choices made by political systems and regimes. Finally, studying
economics is vital in the modern world, because political decisions often
concern economic matters, and government decisions are often influenced
by economic events. Each discipline will be explored to allow students
to engage in analysis and evaluation of major public issues such as how
societies should be organized.
