Rooted is the official name for the Student Ministries (6-12th grade) at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Owatonna, Minnesota. Student Ministry Calendar Rooted is a student ministry that is about living, doing, and navigating this crazy life together in order to be rooted in Christ. At Rooted, we are committed to growing in Jesus Christ, our Cornerstone, in order to grow as the family of Christ. At Rooted we realize that you probably don't have everything figured out. We certainly don't. We are a ministry committed to the grace of God. You won't be judged at Rooted, but will join the family of Christ that is committed to living for Him. These classes focus on providing biblical instruction that touches relevant issues in the lives of youth today. May 17, 6:30-8:00pm) Rooted will be finishing off the year with an End-Of-TheYear-Party. We will hang out, enjoy some food, games, and fellowship with one another! Meet at the Ivance’s home. Summer Rooted (7:00-8:30pm on Sunday evenings) In the summer Rooted will switch to Sunday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm. Come hang out at Cornerstone for games like Ultimate, Spikeball, and Volleyball, and to experience fellowship, worship, and teaching from the Word of God! Random Event Nights (Wed. Jun. 14, Jul. 12, Aug. 9) Once a month during the summer there will be a “Random Event Night” on a Wednesday evening. Events can include things like mini-golfing, service projects, going to a restaurant, and more! The specific event, time, and location will be announced prior to each event, and will be communicated through Rooted’s social media outlets as well as Cornerstone’s website at www.cornerstoneowatonna.com Fireworks Tent Opens (Fri. Jun. 23, 10am) Firework tent opens! We need volunteers to help run the tent. It will go from June 23 until the night of July 4. Contact the office for more information or how to sign up to volunteer. Rummage Sale (Stay tuned for the time) Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the office. Leech Lake Mission Trip (Sun. Jul. 16—Fri. 21) This is Rooted’s high school mission trip where a group of students are going to the Native American Reservation on Leech Lake, MN to minister to the people there. Join us on Sunday, July 16 to commission the team during the regular service to send them off. The team returns on July 21. Don’t forget to come hear about all the team did and experienced on Sunday, July 30th during the service with a potluck meal to follow. VBS Week (Mon. Jul. 31—Fri. Aug. 4, 9:00am-12:00pm) The theme for Cornerstone’s VBS this summer is “Galactic Starveyors.” Interested in helping serve or lead in this summer’s VBS? Contact the main office to see what positions still need filling! Steele County Free Fair (Tue. Aug. 15—Sat. Aug. 19) Cornerstone will once again have a booth at the Fair. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact the main office.
