“CS6712-Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratory” Department of

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
REGISTRATION FEE
Main objective of this workshop is to provide wide
knowledge to the faculty members, researchers and
students on various tool kits of grid and cloud
environment. Through this workshop they can gain
exposure to effectively handle the laboratory exercises
as per the syllabus of CS6712-Grid and Cloud Computing
Laboratory. Grid computing is the segregation of
resources from multiple sites so as to solve a problem
that cannot be solved by using the processing of a single
computer . It employs the use of multiple clusters that
are loosely coupled, heterogeneous and are
geographically dispersed. Cloud computing is a new
technology of computer network, providing the web
services at lower cost comparing to normal technique. It
contributes to improve the services in other related
technologies such as Grid computing. Many computer
resources such as hardware and software are collected
into the resource pool which can be assessed by the
users via the internet through web browsers or light
weight desktops or mobile devices
.
By attending this workshop the participants will gain a
deeper understanding of subject matter and specific
mechanisms, which leads expository benefits in the
domain of Grid and Cloud Computing
UG/PG Students/ Academicians/
Research Scholars

intake of 120. The department has six laboratories and
internet facility is provided throughout the campus by
both wired and Wi-Fi connectivity. Also the department
has a well-planned infrastructure and a growth
oriented departmental activities such as organizing
seminar, workshop, FDP and etc.
MoU with CDAC Chennai
To mark the beginning to a great collaborative
cloud environment , KPRIET gets into memorandum of
understanding with centre for development of
advanced computing, Chennai, a scientific society of
the Ministry of Communications and Information
Technology, Government of India.
Through this we establish an academic community
cloud for the research and academic purpose. The
researchers can gain exposure to standard sustainable
distributed cloud environment and utilize the cloud
services for academic research and development
activities.
