Traditional game FR2

TRADITIONNAL GAMES
THE GAME OF THE STATUE
Objective: to maintain its tone in a stopped motion. Aim: to know how to behave.
Movement spaces are provided in which the children can take marks to anticipate the stop (hoops
on the ground).
Rule of the game
Children move freely in a given space in silence and walking. The teacher taps on a tambourine.
The children must at this signal make the statue and hold it in order to listen to the following
instruction "to move on 4 legs"; The teacher taps on the tambourine and the children move on 4
legs. Then the teacher taps again on the tambourine and they pose as a statue; "Crawling like
snakes" ... so immediately by varying the displacements.
Then we add an emotional constraint: at the signal you will transform yourself into a statue "hands
that are afraid".

Impression of pupils and teacher
This situation-game allows the children to manage their energy and develops in the child the skills
of attention, listening, body expression and coperation between the children.
Teachers 'and peers' views are important:
On the teacher's side, throughout the sessions, he values children who make original choices, who
think to occupy space, recall the possibility of using his body in the height while accompanying
timorous children and Highlighting their trials.
As far as peers are concerned, jokes are of course banned and mutual assistance aroused. Criticism
is constructive if it is supported and for the sake of improvement.
Extensions:
The group statue: a child of the first half group places himself in the center of the room and
proposes a statue of his choice. The other children of this same group are added one by one to
create one and the same statue; The second group observes and comments on the work. Then the
roles are exchanged.
First dance steps ...:
The room is delimited by two lines of dance in its length.
One half is an observer and the other is the other.
The half-actor group is positioned along the starting line. He must go back to the second line and
stop again without ever going back, following the instructions given "You are a leaf blown by the
wind".
The objective is to arrive at a sinuous and varied tracing at the level of the displacement which
gradually leads to a danced expression.
