COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an exciting 3-unit course which will usher you to learning human behavior and the
psychological theories behind those issues you are facing today. It will allow you to identify the
necessary skills that will help you cope with and be prepared for your adult lives. Understanding your
own thoughts and feelings will be a major part of this class. In addition, you will have the chance to
work to communicate effectively, think creatively and critically, manage information and demonstrate
social and cultural awareness.
This course is offered as a hybrid online class. As such, we shall only meet six (6) times
onground during the following:
First 2 weeks of classes
Preliminary Examination
Once during the Midterm Period
Midterm Examination
Once during the Final Period
Final Examination
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the historical foundations of psychology and its
development;
2. Describe the basic concepts, theories, and principles of psychology and describe how they
lead to a greater understanding of human behavior.;
3. Discuss the basic human processes such as motivation, learning, and personality and human
development; and
4. Develop a better understanding of many facets of humanity including yourself and the others.

GRADING SYSTEM:
Prelim Grade = (((2 X Class Standing) + Prelim Exam)/3)
Midterm Grade = (((2 X Class Standing) + Midterm Exam)/3
Final Grade = (((2 X Class Standing) + Final Exam)/3
Final Rating = 30% (Prelim Grade) + 30% (Midterm Grade) + 40% (Final Grade)
