Dr. Bolton Chau received his undergraduate training in biochemistry and psychology, his
MPhil degree in Psychology, and his Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the University of
Hong Kong. He obtained his DPhil degree in Experimental Psychology from the University
of Oxford.
Dr. Chau’s research interest focuses on the neuroscience of reward-guided decisionmaking and learning with focus on the ventral prefrontal cortex (PFC) of the brain. He
has published a number of research articles in scientific journals such as Nature
Neuroscience, Neuron and PNAS, and book chapters on neuroscience. He is currently a
research assistant professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
