Job Description Public Relations & Events Executive – 2 year contract Senior Marketing Manager Full Time Sydney Office Purpose of the position To work alongside team members in Marketing and Fundraising to manage the public relations activity for NBCF as well as plan and execute national events. Page 1 Key responsibilities and duties Setting and implementing a high performance communications plan that grows the NBCF’s position as the leading breast cancer body in Australia and raises awareness around research as the most important contributor to zero deaths from the disease by 2030; Work in collaboration with the Fundraising and Corporate Partnership teams to plan and deliver media activity to support events/activities to drive income growth; Work in collaboration with the Research team to ensure updated and factually correct statistics and information used in all content and media releases to promote NBCF’s focus on research. Develop and own relationships with media outlets across Australia – including metropolitan, regional and suburban media - to raise awareness of NBCF, our initiatives and the CEO. Manage all incoming enquiries from the media and respond effectively and in a timely manner. Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to manage adverse media issues and enquiries to safeguard the NBCF’s reputation. Work with NBCF spokespeople to gain media coverage and gain credibility in the breast cancer research space. Develop media briefing materials and key message documents for NBCF spokespeople. Project manage external PR agencies and consultants to ensure delivery of agreed campaign objectives. Write and manage appropriate internal approvals for media materials including media releases, backgrounders, media alerts etc. Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to project management of nationally based events to help drive brand awareness and fundraising. Work with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute successful events and ensure attendance from the community and media.
