2015 Outstanding Australia Alumni Awards – Philippines
CALL for NOMINATION
The Philippine Australian Alumni Association, Inc. (PA3i), under the auspices of the Australian
Embassy in the Philippines launched the 2015 Edition of the Outstanding Australian Alumni
Awards.
The 2015 Outstanding Australia Alumni Awards is a quest and recognition of the professional
excellence of Filipinos who have obtained formal or non-formal education or training in any
Australian educational institution, who are currently based and working in the Philippines and who
have demonstrated significant contributions in their fields of endeavor. Three main criteria/merits
that will be applied for the judging and selection are accomplishments in the field of endeavor,
demonstration of innovation and initiative, and ability to inspire othersi.
If you know of someone who deserves such recognition, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
The Nomination Period will end on 31 March 2015. For further details, see the Nomination
Guidelines and Mechanics below.
NOMINATION GUIDELINES and MECHANICS

Who May Nominate – Any Australian Alumnus or groups/associations of Australian Alumni
may nominate one candidate for any of the following categories:
1. Public/Government Service – National level;
2. Public/Government Service – Regional level;
3. Industry/academe/Private sector; and
4. Military/Defense sector.
- Self-nominations are not accepted.

Who May be Nominated – Filipinos at least 18 years of age, who completed formal or nonformal education and/or training in any Australian educational institution and are based and
working in the Philippines, can be nominated.
- An Alumnus can only be nominated for one category.
- Nominees may request to be removed from the nomination process at any stage.

How to Nominate – Nominators must complete and submit the following:
1. Nomination Form with justification or explanation addressing each of the three
main selection criteria, and details of three referees.
2. Current Curriculum Vitae of the Nominee.
3. Personal Data Sheet (PDS) accomplished and signed by the nominee should
accompany the submission. The PDS contains declarations on the absence of
any past convictions or pending criminal and/or civil case, and consent for the
use of his/her name and relevant information in relation to the Awards, in
publications and promotions; hence must be duly notarized.
4. Other supporting documents deemed relevant to the evaluation of the
nominees.
Duly accomplished forms and supporting documents may be submitted to the AAA

- Nominator and/or nominees will be contacted if additional information is required.
- An Alumnus cannot win more than one category in any calendar year and cannot win
the same category more than once.
- Nominations are valid only for the 2015 edition of AAAwards.

Deadline for Nominations – All complete nominations shall be accepted only until 5:00
pm of 31 March 2015.

Preliminary Screening – The Australia Alumni Awards Committee (AAA Committee) shall
meet to evaluate/validate the submitted documents and draw up a shortlist of candidates by
15 April 2015.

Notification – The Awards Committee shall notify both the nominator and the nominee of the
result of the preliminary evaluation of the Nominees to the Awards.
- Nominees who were not included in the final List of the Candidates may provide his/her
response and submit additional documentary supports for reconsideration only within 3
days from the receipt of the notice.

Posting of Official Candidates – The AAA Committee shall post on the PA3i website and
other official PA3i social media outlets the profile capsules of all selected candidates, at the
earliest five days after the notice on the results of the screening of the nominees have been
issued, provided that no appeal for reconsideration was received from either nominator or
nominees.

Final Selection of Awardees – AAA Committee shall provide the Panel of Judges with the final
list of candidates, their profiles and all available relevant documents of each candidates and
guidelines on criteria-based rating for their independent evaluation in early April 2015. The
Panel of Judges shall be convened on 22 April 2015 for deliberations and final selection.
- The decision of the panel of Judges is final and no correspondence/appeal will be
entertained.
- The results of final selection by the Judges will be confidential and will be revealed only
during the Awards Night in 30 May 2015.

Post Awards Publicity - Finalists’ and recipients’ names, images and nominators’ submissions
may be published in any form of media in any context pertaining to the Awards after the award
ceremonies.

Innovation and initiative (30%)
 Demonstrated advocacy to promote well being in his/her sector
 Contribution of innovative models / approaches to his/her own sector
Ability to inspire others (40%)
 Demonstrated ability to inspire and influence groups and individuals in his/her own sector through
leadership and initiatives on (any) of the following: social responsibility and ethical conduct; socio-cultural
values, and stewardship; institutional change and innovation; networks and advocacy; and further
development engagements, among others.
