Subaru Scholars

Application Information
Grants range up to $5,000 in regional locations. Grants in the Subaru of America corporate headquarters area may be
higher. Faxed or e-mailed applications are not accepted. Support is limited to 1 contribution per organization during any
given year. Organizations receiving support are asked to submit a grant evaluation form. Application form required.
Applicants should submit the following:
1. Timetable for implementation and evaluation of project
2. Qualifications of key personnel
3. Statement of problem project will address
4. Population served
5. Copy of IRS Determination Letter
6. Brief history of organization and description of its mission
7. Geographic area to be served
8. Copy of most recent annual report/audited financial statement/990
9. How project's results will be evaluated or measured
10. Explanation of why grantmaker is considered an appropriate donor for project
11. Listing of board of directors, trustees, officers and other key people and their affiliations
12. Detailed description of project and amount of funding requested

Club locations; grants to hunger relief organizations at the national, state, and local level from the foundation;
volunteerism efforts from Wal-Mart associates and customers; and collaboration with government, food manufacturers,

Through the Global Women's Economic Empowerment Initiative, Wal-Mart and the foundation supports programs

training and education; increase gender diversity among major suppliers; and programs designed to make significant

National Giving Program
The foundation awards grants of $250,000 and higher to organizations that are implementing programs in multiple sites
across the country or have innovative initiatives that are ready for replication nationally. Special emphasis is directed
toward programs designed to promote education; workforce development and economic opportunity; health and wellness;
environmental sustainability; and programs designed to integrate hunger relief into the above initiatives.
State Giving Program
The foundation awards grants starting at $25,000 to nonprofit organizations that serve a particular state or region. State
Advisory Councils made up of local Wal-Mart associates determine the needs within each state, review grant applications,
and make recommendations to the foundation. The foundation encourages requests that support education; workforce
development and economic opportunity; health and wellness; environmental stability; hunger relief; women's economic
empowerment; and veterans.
State Giving Program - Northwest Arkansas
The foundation awards grants starting at $5,000 to nonprofit organizations designed to serve Benton and Washington
counties, Arkansas. Special emphasis is directed toward innovative system-wide education programs; adolescent literacy;
health promotion and disease prevention; community and social service initiatives; community-based sustainability; and
job skills and workforce development.
Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP)
Through the Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) program, Wal-Mart associates may request charitable contributions on
behalf of eligible organizations where they volunteer.
Wal-Mart Associate Scholarship
The foundation annually awards renewable college scholarships of up to $3,000 to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club associates to
pursue postsecondary education at an institute of higher education and to associates participating in the Lifelong Learning
Program through American Public University. The program is administered by ACT, Inc.
Wal-Mart Dependent Scholarship
The foundation annually awards $3,250 renewable college scholarships to dependents of associates of Wal-Mart who are
graduating high school with a 2.5 cumulative GPA and a demonstrated financial need. The program is administered by
ACT, Inc.
Walton Family Foundation Scholarship
The foundation annually awards college scholarships of up to $13,000 to dependents of associates of Wal-Mart with a
ACT score of 22 or SAT score of 1030. The program is administered by ACT, Inc.
