Terms and Conditions of Bierfest Competitions
Applicable to Competitions Held by Bierfest and its Associated Partners
General Rules of Competitions
Bierfest agrees to run competitions in respect of the beer festival EVENT where entrants are legible to claim a
prize offering as per the competition details therein. These T&C’s apply to competitions held on digital,
electronic, social media and online portals at Bierfest’s discretion and also through traditional media and press
outlets such as Bierfest may deem necessary.
1. All competitions as run by and on behalf of Bierfest and their associated partners are open to all Bierfest
participants and those who participate via the Event’s social media platforms and via traditional press entry
forms. Bierfest employees and their families, also Bierfest partner employees and their families may not enter
any competitions or promotions run by Bierfest in any way on any platform whatsoever.
2. Entrants must be over the age of 18 in order to enter any Bierfest competition.
3. Winners to all competitions will be drawn from either:
3.1. A random draw of all entries collected during the term of that competition and as clearly stated.
3.2. First correctly drawn entry (where the entry mechanism requires a correct answer).
4. Should an accredited winner not be able to claim their prize, for any reason whatsoever, Bierfest reserves the
right to draw another prize winner with no compensation at all due to the original winner drawn if the entire prize
item cannot be accepted by that person/persons as presented in whole.
5. Prizes comprising tickets to Bierfest may only be redeemed on the day and time stipulated on the ticket
awarded to the winner, and may not be exchanged for tickets at another day or time different from what is
reflected on the ticket.
6. Any prize offered by Bierfest is non-transferable.
7. Any prize offered by Bierfest is non-exchangeable for cash value or other prizes.
8. The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or phone and a post on Bierfest social media will
occur within a reasonable timeframe as decided by Bierfest.
9. If a winner does not respond within 14 days (two weeks) of being notified by Bierfest of
their winning, then the prize will be forfeited and another winner chosen.
10. The winner agrees to have their image used in any promotional activity associated with
Bierfest or that of participating partners.
11. Bierfest accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered
by any entrant as a result of entering any competition in
relation to Bierfest.
12. Bierfest reserves the right to at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue,
temporarily or permanently, this Prize with or without prior notice due to reasons beyond the
control of Bierfest.
13. Entrance into the competition is unconditional acceptance of these Terms and
Conditions.
Win a Trip To Munich
1. Bierfest and a travel partner(s) (together as THE PROMOTER) offer a competition with a prize consisting of
expenses paid trip for two (2) persons to Munich, Germany, for the purpose of attending the annual Oktoberfest
celebrations in Munich, Germany.
2. The prize shall consist of:
- Return airfare for two (2) persons from Johannesburg to Munich, Germany.
- Return airport transfers.
- Bidvest Airport Lounge access (in Johannesburg).
- 3 nights’ Bed and Breakfast in Munich, Germany in 3-star accommodation.
- Entrance to Oktoberfest.
- Specialised guided tours of Munich and an ancient Bavarian Brewery.
3. Travel visas and additional meals and beverages purchased by the winner(s) will be for the winner’s own cost.
4. Any additional accommodation, flights or excursions, or changes to existing bookings will be for the winner’s
own cost.
5. The Competition is open to entrants aged 18 and older who are South African residents at the time of the
competition.
6. Prize winner(s) of the prize trip offered by Bierfest will be drawn at the Bierfest offices in Cape Town, South
Africa by Bierfest staff members using a random method from all qualifying entrants on an agreed upon and
advertised date. (This method being documented at filed at Bierfest offices at the time of the draw.)
7. The prize Winner(s) will be notified by e-mail and telephone immediately after the random draw.
8. If a winner is unable to travel, does not hold a valid passport for travel or is prohibited from travelling for any
reason, if the winner declines the prize or is disqualified for any reason, further qualifying entries will be drawn
and this will continue until all the prizes are awarded and accepted. 9. The Promoter’s decision on any matter concerning the Competition and/or arising out of these terms and conditions is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. The Promoter and its affiliates will not be responsible for any harm, damage, loss or claim relating to the provision of any element of a prize or any changes to a prize that may be made at any time.
11. Prizes are not transferable and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for cash or any other item.

12. The Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the granting of the prize, without compensation, if, for any reason, Oktoberfest in Munich is not held.
13. Employees of Bierfest, affiliates, associated and group companies and any other company involved in this
competition, their families and agents, may not participate in this competition.
14. By entering this competition, entrants agree that they will be bound by these terms and conditions, as well as
the General Competition Rules above in this document.
15. If this Competition involves Twitter, Facebook or any other social media platform in the Competition entry
process, entrants must note that any use of profanity, vulgar language, sexist, political or racially motivated
content or any other form of discrimination, will be removed from the social media platform and the entrant will
be
automatically disqualified.
16. These rules shall be governed by the laws of South Africa.
17. If any provision of these rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction,
then that provision shall be severed from these rules and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any
remaining provisions.
18. It is not intended that any provision of these rules contravenes any provision of the Consumer Protection Act,
68 of 2008, and therefore all provisions of these rules must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure
that the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act are complied with.
