Minor Semi Final
Tubberclair 1-7 The Downs 1-15
The minor team played the semi final of the championship away to The Downs.
Tubberclair started well and got the first 2 points of the game, the scores coming from
Owen Harney and Eoin Kilmartin, however The Downs dominated the rest of the first
half and went in 7 points ahead at half time. Tubberclair started the second half better
and an excellent goal from Owen Harney, followed quickly by points from Alan Coffey
and Daniel Sammon put Tubberclair right back in contention. However The Downs
began to dominate again and finished the game off with some excellent points to leave
the final score at Tubberclair 1-7 – St. Mary’s 1-15.

Minor Championship Quarter Final
The minor team played the quarter final of the championship home to
St. Mary’s.
Tubberclair started well and got the first 2 points of the game,
however St. Mary’s dominated the rest of the first half and went in
0-7 to 0-3 ahead at half time.
Tubberclair started the second half better and an excellent move
between Owen Harney and Ian Coffey resulted in a goal from Owen
Harney to put Tubberclair right back in contention. However St Mary’s
began to dominate again and looked to have the game closed out when
they went 6 points ahead with only 5 minutes left. An excellent goal
from a free kick by Ian Coffey, followed by a brilliantly chipped
goal from an acute angle by Coffey again put Tubberclair back on
level terms with one minute left. Tubberclair then took the lead from
an Owen Harney free and wrapped up the game with a Robbie Buckley
point.

Minor Championship
The minor team played the 2nd round of the championship away to
St.Malachys. Despite playing with a very understrength team Tubberclair
got off to a great start with a goal from Eoin Kilmartin in the second
minute. St. Malachy's replied with 2 points of their own before
Tubberclair got back on the scoreboard again with 2 points from Danny
Sammon. However St.Malachys then dominated the game from then to
halftime and only for two excellent saves from goalkeeper Andrew Lennon
Tubberclair would have been much further behind at halftime. The
St.Malachy dominance continued for the early part of the second half,
which saw them increase their lead to 12 points. Tubberclair fought back
to within 6 points but a late goal for
St.Malachys left the final score at Tubberclair 1-10 - St. Malachys
3-13.

Tubberclair 3-18 Kilbeggan St Joseph,s 1-2
The minor team played their final league game in Tubberclair against Kilbeggan/St.
Joseph’s. This was a game that Tubberclair dominated from start to finish. At half
time the score was 1-13 to 0-1 for Tubberclair. In the second half Tubberclair scored a
further 2-5 to the opposition’s 1-1 to leave the final score at Tubberclair 3-18 –
Kilbeggan/St. Joseph’s 1-2. This was an excellent all round team performance with 9
different players getting on the scoreboard. Hopefully this team can carry their form at
the latter stages of the league into the championship.

Minor League Tubberclair 0-8 – St. Mary’s 2-7.
The minor team played their 1st league game in Rochfordbridge against
St. Mary’s.In an evenly contested first half the sides swapped point
for point initially before Tubberclair got the extra score to take a
one point lead at half time. Tubberclair’s first half scores came
from Owen Harney and Daniel Sammon. Tubberclair continued to maintain
their lead in the second half with points from Robbie Buckley, Owen
Harney and Daniel Sammon. However in the final 10 minutes St. Mary’s
got in for 2 goals to give them a 5 point winning margin to leave the
final score at Tubberclair 0-8 – St. Mary’s 2-7.

The minor team played their 4th league game in Bunbrosna against Bunbrosna.
Despite playing with the aid of a strong wind in the first half Tubberclair went in 2 points
behind at half time 0-6 to 0-8. The second half saw a much-improved performance from
Tubberclair but despite good points from Owen Harney and Ian Coffey and goals from Alan
Coffey and Robbie Buckley Bunbrosna did just enough to stay ahead to leave the final score
at Tubberclair 2-9 – Bunbrosna 3-10.

The minor team played their 5th league game in Tubberclair against St.Michael’s.
This was the teams best performance this year and they went in at half time 2-11 to no score
ahead. The second half proved to a similar story with Tubberclair completely dominating the
game adding a further 2-8 to their score with the opposition repling with only 2 points.Final
score Tubberclair 4-19 – Michael’s 0-2.
