Audition Requirements - UoC College of Music
BASS
You need to play three prepared pieces which are stylistically diverse (choose from (latin) jazz,
Caribbean, popular music, funk, fusion, soul)
You can bring your own combo. Upon request UoC College of Music will provide a combo
(pianist/guitarist and drummer) for you. You need to bring good charts of the pieces that you prepared.
You need to show:
•
talent for and affinity with jazz, popular and/or Caribbean music
•
good feel for timing
•
major and Minor chords
•
major and Minor scales
•
sight-reading of simple riffs, chord symbols
•
playing intervals and tonic notes by ear of chords which are played aloud
