Image plates of organisms such as yeast, fungi,
bacteria and algae grown on solid or in liquid media.
Select hits by phenotypes such as size, optical density,
circularity or colour. Transfer cells from hits onto solid
or into liquid media. And much, much more.
It produces high-resolution images of SBS-format
plates using a 13 megapixel camera using SpectraStar™
illumination; a choice of ultra-flat darkfield or ultra-flat
transmission illumination. It uses image recognition
algorithms to select hits by phenotypes that you can set
in intuitive and easy-to-use software. With unrivalled
accuracy, it automatically picks cells from hits using
high-quality, re-usable, stainless steel pins. It can
process up to five plates and will automatically navigate
the fastest possible routes for picking efficiency.

accurate
can it pick?
Singer Instruments understand the importance of

Megapixel CMOS camera with auto focus, providing
highly accurate, absolute colony coordinates. The
Stinger is driven by motors accurate to 5μm, and the
kinematic plate location bays ensure that picking
performance is unrivalled in terms of repeatability
and accuracy.
