Mileage Award 2014 Recipient: Delta Alpha Presented to the chapter with the most members in attendance at Convention multiplied by the number of miles traveled from the site of the chapter’s campus. Otilia Leuchtweis O’Hara Chapter Improvement Award 2014 Recipient: Gamma Eta Presented to the chapter showing the greatest improvement during the biennium Patricia Giallanza Hospitality Award 2014 Recipients: Gamma Sigma, Alpha Psi, Alpha Mu, Alpha Beta, Beta Gamma, Kappa, Zeta, Gamma Lambda Presented to the chapter that most successfully planned and implemented the visit of the Traveling Educational Consultant during the biennium. Anna Rose Kimpel Academic Excellence Award 2014 Recipient: Gamma Nu Presented to the chapter having the highest grade point average reported between Conventions. Jean Yosepian Theta Phi Alpha Foundation Award 2014 Recipient: Zeta Presented to the chapter that has given the most support to the Foundation since the preceding National Convention. Collegiate Delegate Award 2014 Recipient: Kaelyn Mead, Delta Delta Presented to the Collegiate Delegate who plays an active and constructive part in Convention business, friendly towards all sisters, and is an information and responsible representation of her association. Chapter Hometown Philanthropy Award 2014 Recipient: Zeta, Recognition Certificate to Alpha Beta, Alpha Omega and Beta Nu Presented to the chapter that best supports the efforts of a local philanthropic project as evidenced by the scope, number of participants, including members, success of the project. Chapter National Philanthropy Award 2014 Recipient: Alpha Epsilon, Recognition Certificate to Beta Epsilon Presented to the chapter that best supports the efforts of Theta Phi Alpha’s National Philanthropies as evidenced by the scope ; number of participants, including members; and success of the project. Chapter Publicity Award 2014 Recipient: Kappa, Recognition Certificate – Beta Gamma Presented to a chapter on the basis of the collegiate chapter’s publicity in campus and other newspapers, as well as through flyers, posters, The Compass and other printed material. Television and radio publicity is also considered. To be eligible for this award, a chapter must maintain a chapter website. Circle of Excellence 2014 Recipients: Alpha Beta, Beta Epsilon Presented to chapters that have been outstanding since the previous Convention in membership, cooperation with the national organization, scholarship, financial management, and active participation in campus activities. The Circle of Excellence will encompass the activities of a chapter for an entire biennium. As a chapter, you will be competing against yourself, not other chapters, to be recognized by this award. This is the highest national award given to a chapter. Helen Ryan Quinlan Community Service Award 2014 Recipient: Beta Sigma, Recognition Certificate – Delta Beta Presented to the chapter performing a noteworthy project of value to community or campus. Recruitment Award 2014 Recipient: Alpha Beta Presented to the chapter outstanding in the following: percentage increase in the number of pledge sisters; excellence of recruitment methods and reports. Ruth M. Thompson Greek Life Award 2014 Recipient: Kappa, Recognition Certificate –Alpha Beta Also recognized: Gamma Omega and Delta Beta Presented to the chapter that has contributed the most to the College Panhellenic or Inter-Greek Council on its campus. Selma Gilday Improved Academic Excellence Award 2014 Recipient: Beta Nu Presented to the chapter that instituted a program to improve its scholastic average and, as a direct result, demonstrates improvement. Chicago Area Alumnae Association Song Award 2014 Recipient: Alpha Mu Presented to a chapter and/or alumnae association for best traditional (i.e. serious, ritual type) song. Northeastern Nebraska Alumnae Association Song Award 2014 Recipient: Gamma Nu Presented to a chapter and/or alumnae association for best contemporary (i.e. upbeat, fun, recruitment type) song. Dr. Mari Ann Callais Outstanding Fraternity/Sorority Professional Award 2014 Recipient: Angie Carr-Robinett, Rockhurst University To recognize an outstanding Fraternity/Sorority advisor who provided superior support and guidance to a chapter and/or Greek system on campus. National Achievement Award 2014 Recipient: Leslie Ervin Trahant, Alpha Beta Presented to the individual, collegiate chapter, or alumnae association that has made a special contribution to the national Fraternity or brought special honor to it. Gloria Neises Chapter Advisory Board Award 2014 Recipient: Mu Presented to the Chapter Advisory Board for outstanding guidance to a collegiate chapter. Alumnae Delegate Award 2014 Recipient: Aleshia Brewer, Central Florida Presented to the Alumnae Delegate who plays an active and constructive part in Convention business, friendly towards all sisters, and is an information and responsible representation of her association. Guard of Honor 2014 Recipient: Stephanie Galendez, Alpha Beta Presented to alumnae members who have given long and devoted service to the national organization. The Guard of Honor is the highest award Theta Phi Alpha can bestow on an individual member. National Officer Award 2014 Recipient: Patricia Giallanza, Upsilon Presented to a National Officer who has made a significant difference for Theta Phi Alpha through her dedication and hard work Flint Area Alumnae Association Attendance Award 2014 Recipient: Flint Area Presented to the alumnae association with the most registered members in attendance at National Convention. An alumna who maintains membership in more than one association may be counted as a member each. Alumnae Association Community Service Award 2014 Recipient: New Orleans Presented in recognition of the most worthy activity (single event or project) in the community on the part of an alumnae association. Alumnae Association Philanthropy Award 2014 Recipient: Akron Presented in recognition of the most worthy activity (single event or project) for one of our national philanthropies or a local organization. Amelia McSweeney Award 2014 Recipient: New Orleans, Recognition Certificate to Flint Area Presented to the alumnae association that makes an outstanding contribution to Theta Phi Alpha on a national level. Centennial Award 2014 Recipient: New Orleans Presented to the alumnae association for overall excellence in membership, cooperation with national, financial management, program planning, and participation in national activities. Dolores Friess Stephenson Alumnae Publicity Award 2014 Recipient: Central Florida, Recognition Certificate to New York City Presented to the alumnae association that has best-publicized Theta Phi Alpha through contributions to The Compass, electronic media, newspaper, television, radio, and university magazines. Association newsletters are also considered. Jean M. Cusack Membership Award 2014 Recipient: Greater than 30 members – Flint Area; Fewer than 30 members – Northeastern Nebraska Presented to the alumnae association that best maintained, expanded, and reported its membership since the preceding National Convention. Two awards may be presented to distinguish between large and small associations. Mildred M. Connely Award 2014 Recipient: Northeastern Nebraska, Recognition Certificate to New Orleans Presented to an alumnae association for their outstanding support to a collegiate chapter or colony during the biennium. Outstanding Alumna Mentor Award 2014 Recipient : Sue Check, Alpha Xi Presented to an outstanding Theta Phi Alpha sister who has demonstrated exceptional ability in guiding the personal and fraternal growth of a sister, colony, chapter and/or alumnae association through her works. Lois Barry Lynch Theta Phi Alpha Foundation Award 2014 Recipient: Chicago Area Presented to the alumna association that has given the most support to the Foundation since the preceding National Convention.
