We make sure New Zealand has accurate information about where people and places
are, people have confidence in their property rights and Crown property is well
managed for future generations.
Our responsibilities include managing land titles, geodetic and cadastral survey
systems, topographic information, hydrographic information, managing Crown property
and supporting government decision making around foreign ownership.
The Corporate group provides independent advice and support to the Chief Executive,
the Executive Leadership Team, and to business groups. It translates important
strategic and operational decisions into action; assists the organisation to manage
change; and enables LINZ to deliver on core functions.
Position overview and accountabilities
The Digital Services Advisor develops, publishes and manages content on LINZ’s digital
channels; and provides best practice advice and support to business groups on how
LINZ’s digital channels can help them meet their objectives.
The Digital Services Advisor also creates a range of visual materials (using graphics,
video and photography) to help tell LINZ’s story.

accountabilities
This position is accountable for:







Working with the Strategic Communications team, and
subject matter experts, to develop content for LINZ’s digital
channels (such as the website, intranet, social media, enewsletters, and internal TV screens)
Publishing and updating web content on a day-to-day basis
Designing and producing visual communications materials
(such as A3s, brochures, posters, infographics and videos),
adhering to LINZ’s brand and style guidelines
Sourcing photos for internal and external use
Working collaboratively with other members of the Digital
Services Team on improvements to digital channels
Being an expert in the content management system, and
provide training and support to others if required
Analysing and reporting on digital activity

Person specification
Qualifications
and experience













Proven track record of developing content for an
organisation’s digital channels, such as websites, intranet and
social media
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
An understanding of branding and application of brand
identity
Basic photographic skills
Demonstrated proficiency managing web content using a
content management system (ideally Drupal)
Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated
experience in writing/editing content for the web, including
translating technical information into plain English
Knowledge of HTML
Understanding of current web technologies and best
practices, including SEO, accessibility and information
architecture
Excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated experience producing website metrics using
Google Analytics is desirable
Knowledge of the New Zealand Government Web Standards
is desirable
Knowledge of video editing software/video production is
desirable
