WELCOME TO MARIST NH JUNIOR RUGBY
If you are interested in playing Junior Rugby at Marist NH Rugby Club, please
Register online. You will find the link in the Junior section of our Marist website.
*Players must be turning 5 by 30th June 2017 to be eligible to play.
If you have already registered your child online to play Junior Rugby for 2017, you will still
need to bring them down to the club on one of the registration days to weigh your child in and
pay their 2017 fees.
If you register your child online after our registration days have been held, you will need to

to organise a time to come in and have your child’s weight recorded and pay the 2017 fees.
Your child will not be put in a team until they have been weighed in at the club and
registrations fees paid.
NB: Your child will be playing either Rippa Rugby (J7-J8) or Tackle Rugby (J1-J6). The grade
your child gets put into will depend on the 2017 NHRU age/weight chart, the link is on our
Junior page.
If this is your child’s first year at Marist, please bring evidence of their D.O.B. – Passport or
Birth Certificate.
We make every effort to balance our teams across the grades to ensure that each team has a
similar performance within the same grade. We always endeavour to recognise the requests
by parents for their child to stay with a particular team, but this could mean from year to
year, that players may not stay with the same group of players, but be allocated to different
teams and coaches.
Players must wear the Marist Rugby shorts and socks for all games. We recommend these be
purchased on the registration or Muster days. Other gear will also be available for purchase
from the club on these days and set days thereafter. A training t-shirt will be supplied free at
the time of registering and paying your 2017 fees.
All players will be supplied with a playing jersey on game days.
*Mouth guards are compulsory and players will get a free mouth guard on registration days*

2017 Registration Fees
One player - $120
Two players - $220
Three players - $320
Multiple players must be from the same family.
Rippa Rugby – is for 5-7 year old boys and girls. Rippa Rugby is played on Saturday
mornings at various rugby venues depending on the module. They will usually train prior to
their game. Times to be confirmed, but training/games are usually between 8.00-9.30am.
Girls Rippa Rugby – A module that will have 3 grades.
Girls U9 for 7-8 year olds.
Girls U11 for 9-10 year olds.
Girls U13 for 11-12 year olds.
Girls Rippa Teams are age-based, no weight restrictions. This is very exciting for our girls and
will also be great for those who want to continue on from playing J7/J8 Rippa Rugby but are
not interested in Tackle Rugby.
J5-J6 Rugby is for 7-8 year olds. This grade has one training night during the week. Your
training night will be either a Monday or Wednesday. Trainings are from approximately
4-6pm. Training will begin around the end of March after Muster Day.
J1-J4 Rugby is for 9-12 year olds. This grade has either 1 or 2 training nights during the
week. Your training night will be on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Trainings are from
approximately 4-6pm. Training will begin around the end of March after Muster Day.
Our home grounds are Marist NH Rugby Club and Wainoni Park in Greenhithe.
The first game of the 2017 season is Saturday 6th May which is also Grade Day. The last
playing day for the 2017 season is Saturday 19th August.
