ANNOUNCEMENT On 12-13 of November 2015 Odessa Regional Council will hold the "Congress of project initiatives Romania-Ukraine” with the support of the Consulate General of Romania in Odessa. The congress is aimed at the development of priorities of the Eastern Partnership on cultural, economic and social cooperation with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe by supporting of effective and a prolonged cross-border cooperation, the establishment of an exchange between citizens of neighbouring states in the development and integration of communities, intensifying the dialogue between the local and regional authorities. The organizations of Romania and Ukraine, the local authorities have accumulated sufficient experience on the implementation of joint projects in such areas as supporting of contacts between people, governance, economic development, culture and education, science and business. Results of executing the numerous grant programs on the supporting of local initiatives based on the mechanisms of cross-border cooperation have brought considerable economic and social benefits for the development of border areas. There were createdthe opportunities for access to the EU structural funds. The main event, held during the Congress, is the competition for the design of projects of crossborder cooperation. All the organizations and institutions in Romania and Ukraine, including nongovernmental organizations, institutions of culture and education, local authorities and associations, commercial companies and private persons are invited to the participation, without limitation. The aim of the competition is the development of cross-border cooperation, exchange of experiences and good practices for the preparation of joint projects that can be implemented on the territory of Romania and Ukraine in the framework of the Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine, Erasmus + and Horizon 2020, a number of other competitions held by the European Commission. The projects must be in the following thematic categories for participation in the competition: 1. the public administration and local authorities; 2. social innovation, development of civil society; 3. culture and art for the development, conservation and development of the historical heritage; 4. tourism and sports; 5. education and science; 6. ecology and environmental protection; 7. the development of local infrastructure, attracting investment. one major winner will be selected in each of these categories. The projects marked by the Program Committee, will be placed in the general catalogue of project proposal Romania-Ukraine and will supported in the application for a grant under the EU programs.
