Goal of the Coptic League:
• Goal Defined: The Coptic League serves as a Sports Ministry
program for the Coptic Orthodox Church- Diocese of Los
Angeles, that seeks to provide its participants with a healthy
and fun outlet in which they may have the opportunity to
express themselves in socially appropriate ways.
• What it is not: JUST ANOTHER SPORTS LEAGUE…
•
“And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless
he competes according to the rules…” 2 Timothy 2:5
•
“And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an
imperishable crown.” 1 Corinthians 9:25

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it
would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and
he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” Matthew 18:6
 Coaching is a service to God and benefits the Coach as much as the
players
 Sacrifice of the Coach’s time and energy
 Tremendous responsibility in the lives of their youth
 You are modeling the Christian approach to competing and leading
 For some of our youth-this may be the last opportunity to reach them
through the church
