The Rookies Division
is an instructional league for 1st - 4th graders where emphasis is on
skill development and rule comprehension. Teams will be organized in December with official
practices starting in January. There will be 4 weeks of skill development practices followed by 4
weeks of games.
Season will conclude March 6, 2014 at The Palace of Auburn Hills for the Pistons Academy Awards
Ceremony. All players receive Pistons Academy reversible jerseys, a Pistons game ticket, team
pictures, and participation award at the Academy Awards.
Leagues




The Prep Division is for 3rd - 4th graders
and is the first step in the Pistons Academy and
transitions players from instructional play to
league play.
The College Division is for 5th-6th
graders and is the 2nd step in the Pistons
Academy, players have a chance to continue
developing skills in a recreational league format.
The Pro Division is for 7th-9th graders
and is the 3nd step in the Pistons Academy,
players will get an opportunity to compete in a
half-time game at The Palace of Auburn Hills
during a Pistons RARA night.
The Legends Division is for 10th-12th
graders and is the final step in the Pistons
Academy where players sign up their whole
team together and bypass the combine and
draft.

Teams will be organized the 3rd week in December with official practices starting in January. All teams are
guaranteed a minimum of 3 practices, 6 regular season games on Saturdays, and a single elimination playoff.
(Legends Division gets double elimination playoff).
December 4th or 5th all players (except Legends Division) are required to attend the Pistons Academy skills
combine where players will have a chance to experience drills and test their basketball abilities. Player
ratings will be calculated at the combine and our volunteer coaches will use the rating system to draft their
players at the live draft night December 11(Prep/College) December 12(Pro).
Practices and Games will start in January on Saturdays with the regular season ending March 6, 2014 at the
Palace of Auburn Hills for the Pistons Academy Awards night. Post season single/double elimination
tournament will start the following weekend.

Refund Policy
Program cancellation due to lack of enrollment: You will be notified and offered an alternative choice if one is available. If no other choice is available, a full refund will be issued within 30 days. Rochester Avon Recreation Authority
reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine, change locations, or change instructors as needed.
If participant wishes to cancel or fails to participate in a program: He/she must notify RARA BEFORE the closing date of the program registration in order to receive a refund. No credits or refunds will be given after that time.
However, medical conditions will be handled on a case-to-case basis.
Program fees Will Not be prorated based on missed or forfeited games.
RELEASE, INDEMNIFICATION & HOLD HARMLESS:
The undersigned recognizes and acknowledges that there are certain inherent hazards and risks connected with activities and programs of the Rochester Avon Recreation
Authority. The undersigned hereby (1) knowingly and voluntarily assumes full responsibility for such risks and hazards and, (2) agrees that I am bound by all terms and
conditions of the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority rules and procedures. The undersigned is aware of the content of the programs and activities of the Rochester
Avon Recreation Authority and hereby represents that the undersigned is physically, mentally and emotionally fit and capable of safely participating in such programs or
activities. I agree as a condition of participation in programs or activities of the Rochester Avon Recreation Authority to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless
Rochester Avon Recreation Authority, its officers, agents, employees and volunteers harmless from and against any and all loss, judgments, damage and expense incurred
by reason of any claim or liability based upon (1) personal injury (including death) or property damage to any person arising out of the negligent or intentional action of
the undersigned, or (2) personal injury (including death) or property damage to the undersigned, except to the extent that such injury or damage is directly caused by the
negligent acts or omissions of Rochester Avon Recreation Authority, its officers, agents, employees or volunteers.
