The Ball Winch Field Services division of L.B. Foster is a team of field coating experts and engineers capable of managing challenging field
joint coating projects throughout North America. Ball Winch corrosion professionals have a reputation for meeting the most demanding
requirements and specifications where quality coating is critical.
Our engineers have developed state-of-the-art field joint coating equipment, such as induction heaters and mobile powder application
equipment, for today’s pipeline construction industry. Ball Winch Field Services deploys our innovative team and technology to apply
protective coating to field joints, buckle arrestors, J collars and fabricated pipe ranging in size from 2” through 54”.
We can meet our customers’ most exacting specifications and difficult schedules with material and workmanship that exceed industry
standards. Ball Winch Field Services also maintains a strong commitment to safety that is supported by ongoing workplace initiatives.

Ball Winch Field Services experts utilize enclosed abrasive blast cleaning equipment that is both recoverable and recyclable.
Field Applied Protection
Fusion Bonded Exoxy (FBE)
Ball Winch Field Services applies Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coatings that exceed all industry pipe coating standards. This protective
coating is a one-part, heat curable, thermosetting epoxy powder designed for corrosion protection of pipe.
Abrasion Resistant Overcoat (ARO)
Ball Winch Field Services increases surface abrasion protection of FBE coated pipe with the application of Abrasion Resistant Overcoat
(ARO). This durable 2-layer system is ideal for tough installations, such as directional drilled river crossings. It is compatible with all FBE
coatings and has excellent impact resistance.
TRIPLUS PE and TRIPLUS PP
Ball Winch Field Services applies the innovative TRIPLUS 3-layer protective coatings that begin with a layer of Fusion Bonded Epoxy
(FBE) to provide excellent adhesion to the steel. This initial coating is followed by multiple layers of Polyolefins, which can be built to a
wide range of thicknesses depending on the specifications from the customer. The TRIPLUS system provides high mechanical resistance
and protection throughout all stages of pipeline construction and in-service performance.
Multi-Component Liquid (MCL)
Ball Winch Field Services utilizes innovative plural component liquid spray equipment to apply liquid epoxy coatings to pipe, fittings
and induction bends in the most challenging field service projects.
