Rollicking guitarist Eight Ball Aitken is heading from his home in the US for a tour in the Territory
Eight ball rolls in
IT’S been a decent stint since
Eight Ball Aitken’s last rendezvous with the Territory, but the
renowned country plucker is
readying himself for his return.
Aitken is heading for the NT
in May, accompanied by his
band, for performances in Darwin, Katherine, Humpty Doo,
Batchelor, Jabiru, Freds Pass
Rural Show and Parap.
An accomplished slide
guitarist and resident of Austin,
Texas in the US, Aitken has become known as a global
troubadour dedicated to his
six-string muse.
He has a strong internation-
al fan base in his expat home of
Australia, as well as in Canada,
Japan and Europe.
He brings fine musicianship
in the form of original swamp
and hurricane blues, country
rock and Americana, along with
an unforgettable party vibe.
Currently on an American
run aligned with the release of
his self-titled ninth album, Aitken has contributed to the
soundtracks
of
Breaking
Amish, Parking Wars, Justified
and Nashville where his unique
tour posters were displayed on
set.
Aitken is also known for
song titles which can trigger a
giggle, including Seven Bucks
an Hour in a Chicken Suit and
She’s Going to Mexico, I’m
Going to Jail.
Give yourselves up to the
funky rhythms of Eight Ball Aitken when the tour kicks off at
Hotel Darwin on Friday May 6.
Following this, the show
heads to Katherine Country
Club on Saturday May 7,
Humpty Doo Hotel on Sunday
May 8, Batchelor on Thursday
May 12, Jabiru on Friday May
13, Freds Pass Show, Saturday
May 14 and Railway Club Parap
on Sunday May 15.
