Example
Joe's current password is health. Joe wants to change to a more secure password using the Password
Management Portal on the IS Self Service Help Desk. Joe logs in through My Apps and changes his
password to "joe1may"; however, the system will not accept his password because it contains his
name, lacks a special character, and is only seven characters in length. Joe tries again by entering
"#healthy1". This time, the password is accepted because it contains a combination of lower-case
letters (not his name!), a special character, and a number, AND it is 9 characters long.
In addition to following the new guidelines for passwords, don't forget the basics of password
security: never use your name, account number, or other personal information as a component of
your password, do not give your password to anyone, and do not write it on a sticky note posted on
or near your PC.
9. In the Confirm Password field, re-enter the password from the New Password field.
10. Click Next and the final screen returns showing that password reset successfully
11. Click OK to end the session
12. If prompted, Click Yes to close the Window
Step 3 – Login to My Apps Using Your Username And Password
1. To access, oneChart, click ‘My Apps’.
2. The My Apps login screen returns.
3. Enter your SAP number i.e. mg123456a & you’re the new password that you setup in Step 2.
(You no longer use a generic login and password here)
Note: At this point, it is important that you continue the login process to your OneChart
application (Step 4) because your Cerner username and password will be saved the first
time you login. You should continue with the login process or SSO may not function properly.
Step 4 – Login to Cerner
1. Select the oneChart application you need to use (i.e. P005 PowerChart, or P005 FirstNet or
any other Cerner application).
2. Enter your initial Cerner login and
password, which will be different from
the password that you have just reset
and used for My Apps.
3. Click the OK button.
