To the Technical Committee on Residential Occupancies:
The NFPA 101 Second Revisions are now open for ballot. Please note that this is the new
online balloting system. Please follow the instructions below to access the Second Revisions
and submit your Second Draft Ballot on NFPA 101, Life Safety Code®. The ballot is due no
later than Wednesday, September 18, 2013. *Non-Voting Members: The new online system can only maintain those committee
members eligible to vote, for tabulation purposes, however, we continue to welcome your
input. Please follow the instructions to view the Second Revisions and send any comments
by email to Kelly Carey, [email protected]. As always, any comments you submit will be
provided to the committee during the re-circulation process. Viewing the Second Revisions Online:
In order to make it easier for balloting, it is suggested that you review the Second Revisions
online prior to going into your ballot. To review the Second Revisions within the document
online, please click on the link below and sign in with your NFPA username and password:

Please note, when viewing the Second Revisions, you will have the option to see each of
them in legislative text or in clean text by clicking on the “Hide Edit” button. In addition, a
pdf of the Second Revisions with Statements report as well as the Public Comment Report
have been posted to the NFPA Document Information pages for your convenience. You
may view these reports by clicking the following link and signing in with your NFPA
username and password: www.nfpa.org/101next. Submitting Your Ballots: IMPORTANT: You must hit SUBMIT to SAVE your work. Please note
the system session will time you out after 60 minutes and any work
not submitted will not be saved!
To access your ballot online, please click on the link below and sign in with your NFPA
username and password:

This will bring you to the balloting home page where you will be able to view all of your
open ballots. However, if you have only one open ballot, please skip to step 4 listed below.
If you have multiple open ballots, you will need to select which ballot you would like to work
on by using the Action header and selecting the green Start arrow to access the desired
ballot.
Choose one of the two choices:
To Vote Affirmative All (Note: If you choose Affirmative All you will be taken to the screen
to submit your ballot)
Select Affirmative All, click on the check box and then click Next.
Scroll to the bottom of the ballot form, check the box next to the Participant Consent
statement and click Submit.
OR
To Vote Affirmative with Exception(s)
Select Affirmative with Exception(s) , click on the check box and click Next.
Click on one of the following choices: Affirmative with Comment OR Negative OR
Abstain and it is required that you provide a reason for your response in the Add Comments
field. (Note: Fields that are left unchecked will be recorded as Affirmative.)
Scroll to the bottom of the ballot form, check the box next to the Participant Consent
statement and click Submit.
If you need to edit a response, select the edit election link (on the lower right of ballot),
modify the ballot form, and then re-submit.
**You will receive an email confirmation once your ballots have been submitted. Please note that the ballot is due no later than Wednesday,
September 18, 2013. (You may revisit the balloting link as often as needed to edit
your elections through 11:59pm on the ballot due date.)
