AfrAsia Bank launches the World MasterCard® Credit card, a first in Mauritius

In order to further strengthen its foothold in the premium credit card market, AfrAsia Bank in
collaboration with MasterCard Worldwide announced the launch of the first AfrAsia World MasterCard
Credit card, equipped with the latest EMV chip technology. Targeted at the banks affluent and high net
worth customers, the credit card will introduce a range of distinctive privileges exclusive to cardholders.
The AfrAsia World MasterCard Credit card is the pinnacle of MasterCard’s suite of products providing
added security, prestige and innovation. "Our expertise built over the years from working closely with
emerging affluent clients, has allowed us to devise a premium package for clients with global
perspective and needs,” commented James Benoit, Chief Executive Officer of AfrAsia Bank.
“The AfrAsia World MasterCard Credit card has been created specifically with the needs of the global

“MasterCard’s EMV chip technology accepts authentication without signature, enhancing the card’s
security features while adding convenience and efficiency to each transaction. AfrAsia Bank and

As a launch promotional offer, cardholders using their AfrAsia World MasterCard Credit card will be
automatically entered into a draw, in which they stand a chance to win a BMW Z4 Coupe Cabriolet. This
competition will provide a hint of the exclusive experiences that AfrAsia Bank’s premium customers will
be able to access as a World MasterCard Credit card cardholder. These include preferential service at
partner hotels, exclusive travel packages created with the discerning customer in mind, and priceless
experiences that are simply not available to the general market.
Partnering with world class concierge service, Quintessentially, AfrAsia World MasterCard Credit card
cardholders will enjoy global priceless lifestyle experiences, which may range from getting a table at the
latest hyped restaurant in New York to seeing a new exclusive collection at their favorite boutique in
Hong Kong. Cardholders will also gain access to backstage experiences at the latest entertainment
events. The card moreover allows the cardholder, through their World Loyalty Program, to convert daily
purchases to flying miles, cash back and hotel stays amongst other unique rewards. With exclusive offers
at the most luxurious hotels, golf courses, spas, restaurants, and shops.
With a minimum credit limit of MUR400,000, the card will carry an annual percentage rate of 15%, the
lowest credit rate on the market. For the dollar card the minimum credit limit has been set at
USD15,000 and EUR10,000 for the Euro card, with both carrying an annual credit interest rate of 9%.
The introduction of the AfrAsia World MasterCard Credit card extends the Bank’s robust range of
premium private banking, wealth management and investment products, which already includes the
