Keeping your leadership involved and active in endorsing your strategy as your
program matures is an important factor in the success of your program. Transforming
your strategy checklist might be the key.
Many organizations develop a wellness strategy checklist that
looks something like this:
Developed and followed a comprehensive
program strategy
Crafted a health and wellness vision
and mission statement
Gained buy-in and support from senior
management
Developed a communications/marketing
strategy
Allocated budget for health and
wellness program
Engaged senior leaders in leading by
example

To ensure that your leadership team remains engaged over the
life of your program, try transforming your checklist to look like this:
Identify the type of reports that are important
to senior leaders so that they are informed and
engaged and can help make meaningful decisions
about the program.
Interview leaders to gain important insight about
their level of support, resource allocation, and
commitment to actively engage.
Align your health management strategy with
organizational goals.Crafted a health and wellness
vision and mission statement
Communicate frequently and consistently to all
levels of leadership (from senior management,
mid-level, and frontline managers) who are
best-positioned to affect program success
