SUSI Application Submission What Happens next • Your application goes into a queuing system • Provisional Assessment – Checklist letter – Award from application 20,000 awarded from Application in 2016/17, no documents required • Return Documents requested • Review Assessment – Award – Additional documents SUSI So Why Apply? • You may be eligible for assistance with –Student Contribution €3,000 Paid directly to the college on your behalf –Maintenance Grant Paid directly into your nominated Bank Account Grant Types and Rates (Dependent on your Household Income in 2016) • Undergraduate Level 6, 7 or 8 course undertaken at Institutes of Technology or Universities in the State Fee Grant: YES - Student Contribution Fee of €3,000 2017/18 Maintenance Grant: YES - Depending on meeting all Eligibility Criteria • Undergraduate Level 7 or 8 course undertaken at Institutions outside the State Fee Grant: NO – Fees not covered Maintenance Grant YES - Depending on meeting all Eligibility Criteria For Higher Education Undergraduate Students & Awards in the State Where the Household Income for 2016 is: €39,875 or less you would be eligible for 100% Maintenance Grant AWARD €1,215 per academic year- €135 per month Where you are less than 45kms from home to College Paid directly into your bank account each month Student Contribution Fee € 3,000 paid directly to your college €39,875 or less you would be eligible for 100% Maintenance Grant AWARD €3,025 per academic year- €336 per month Where you are more than 45kms from home to College Paid directly into your bank account each month Student Contribution Fee € 3,000 paid directly to your college Income Thresholds Undergraduate Students Where the Household Income for 2016 is less than €23,000 and has an eligible long term Department of Social Protection Payment on 31/12/2016: You may be eligible for the Special Rate of Maintenance.
