International Research Enrichment (IRE) Program
What is IRE Program?
A newly launched “Elite Program” in 2013 designed
for students interested in Science research
A separate JUPAS choice (JS5011) with 20 intakes per year
Provide students with early+ international research opportunities
Students from regular B. Sc (Science) Program can be transferred to IRE
after 2 semesters upon approval
Why IRE Program?
The program is built on the premise that early international exposure
is highly beneficial for the success of a research career
HKUST is ready to offer this program because of its wide international
connection/reputation
Usually:
UG (B.Sc.) → PG (Ph.D.) → Post-doctoral → Faculty (Academic)
