2015-2016 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Morris Deputy, Assistant Treasurer
As Middletown Town Manager, Morris' responsibilites require him
to direct and supervise the administration of all the departments
through daily coordination with the town superintendent, clerk,
solicitor, and auditor. Morris is required to keep the mayor and
council fully advised as to the financial condition and future needs
of Middletown and make such recommendations to the mayor and
council concerning the affairs of the town, as he deems desirable.
Morris graduated from Milford High School in Milford, Delaware
and attended the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. In
1994, Morris graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science
degree in Civil Engineering.
Prior to employment with Middletown, Morris worked as a construction foreman with John
Julian Construction, and project manager with the engineering consulting firm of KCI
Technologies, Inc. In 2000, Morris received his Delaware Professional Engineering license.
Morris and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 15 years and reside in Middletown,
Delaware with their two children, Alexis(14) and Margaux(9). Alexis is in the 8th grade and
Margaux is in 4th grade at the MOT Charter School.
Brian Glancy
Brian P. Glancy has been a Delaware attorney for over 25 years. He
is currently with the firm of Strata Law, LLC and manages the firm’s
Middletown, Delaware office. Brian’s practice focuses primarily on
residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as estate
planning and estate administration.
Brian is a 1983 graduate of the University of Delaware with a degree
in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. While
attending the University, he was selected for membership in Omicron,
Delta Epsilon, the International Economics Honor Society. Brian
received his law degree from the Widener University School of Law,
cum laude in 1986, where he was awarded the American
Jurisprudence Award in contracts and commercial paper. In addition to his private practice,
Brian has worked as an instructor in civil procedure in the University of Delaware’s
continuing education department and has spoken at numerous seminars for fellow attorneys
on real estate and title matters.
Brian and his wife Cindy are the parents of two MOT Charter alumni, Kathleen and
Kevin. Kathleen was a member of MOT Charter’s very first 8th grade graduating class and
is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland. Kevin is attending college at James
Madison University.
Linda J. Jennings, Esquire
Founding Board Member
One of the founders of the MOT Charter School in 2002, Linda Jennings has been the Head
of School of the MOT Charter School since 2004-2005.
A Summa Cum Laud graduate of Springfield College with a Bachelor's of Science degree in
Mathematics and Health Fitness, Linda recieved a Juris Doctor with Order of the Coif
designation from the University of Maryland, where she was awarded the American
Jurisprudence Award in Torts and Criminal Law. Linda also served as the Managing Director
of the Maryland Law Review.
Following a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Joseph J. Farnan, Jr. on the United States
District Court for the District of Delaware, Linda Joined the Philadelphia-based law firm,
Duane, Morris & Hecksher as a commercial litigator. Prior to leading the MOT Charter
School, Ms. Jennings was a Senior Executive of The Siefried Group, where she served as the
firm's General Counsel and Director of Human Resources and Marketing.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of The MOT Charter School, Linda is an
active youth sports coach and Youth Ministry leader at Cornerstone United Methodist
Church.
M S Ali Khan
Ali Khan has 20 years of professional experience in information technology, of that 13 years
in the financial and banking industry. He currently works as a Service Delivery Manager in
the Information Technology area at JP Morgan Chase in Wilmington, Delaware. Ali’s work
focuses on end to end service ownership and improvement, IT Risk and Security review and
implementation, data center migration, and operational readiness.
Ali graduated in 1995 from Osmania University, INDIA with a Masters in Computer
Applications. While attending university he owned a business to assemble personal
computers and develop customized software, products were hospital and hospitality (hotel)
management systems. During his junior high Ali was captain of the high school sports house
and won the annual sports shield.
Ali believes in being connected with community and works with many “not for profit”
organizations supporting local and international communities for economic and humanitarian
purposes.Local to Delaware he has done free online taxes, online FAFSA form filling, and
back to school supplies campaign.
Ali and wife Swaiba have made Delaware their home for the last 12 years and are parents
to three kids with Samiyah (8th Grader) and Mir Sa’ad (5th Grader) at MOT Charter school,
and Saarah.
Jolene A. Outten, Secretary
As a paralegal for a worldwide chemical company, Jolene assists
with the filing, prosecution and management of the company's
patents and other intellectual property in the Legal Department.
Jolene has worked for the same company for over 26 years and
has an Associate of Arts degree from Goldey Beacom College and
a Paralegal Certificate from Widener University.
Jolene has been married for over 19 years to her husband, John,
an Environmental Scientist for the Air Quality section of the
Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental
Control. They reside in Townsend, Delaware and have two
children, Aaron (a 2008 graduate of MOT Charter) and Zachary (a
2009 graduate of MOT Charter). Jolene has been a member of the MOT Charter School
Board of Directors since 2002, and also has served as Team Manager for her son's travel
soccer team since 2005 and continues in that capacity.
Her previous volunteer positions have included Girl Scout Troop Leader, Chapter President
of the Delaware City Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCs), Office of the Delaware JCs
Governor's Club, and member of the Blackbird Community Center.
Lou Savino
As the Account Executive for New Castle Insurance, LTD. Louis is
responisible for managing insurance for businesses of all sizes in
the Mid-Atlantic region - working as a consultant to support all
customers to help them maximize coverage and minimize costs.
Louis graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Louis and wife Lisa have five children; Mary, Isabella, Louis, Sofia
and Nicholas. They reside in Middletown, Delaware.
Steven Stallone
Steven Stallone (Steve) is the Treasurer and Director
for MOT CharterSchool. Steve is also a Senior Client Service
Associate for J.P. Morgan – Private Banking UHNW Group. Steve
has over twenty years of relevant experience working in the
banking, brokerage, mutual fund and insurance industries. Steve
is recognized for his skill and relationships with his clients in ultra
high net worth, wealth management, institutional investments
and 401K groups. He has worked with clients to meet business
growth objectives by harnessing new growth and balancing
corporate portfolios.
Steve Stallone earned a BA degree in Business Administration
from Hope College and an MBA degree in Investment Management from Drexel University.
He holds series 7, series 63 and series 65 securities licenses and insurance licenses in a
number of states. Steve is and Eagle Scout and a 15 year resident of Newark, DE. Steve
and his family enjoy spending time at the beach.
Sam Sullivan
Sam was born and raised in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He is a product of 13 years of
Catholic School Education. He began his college career at Temple University and graduated
in 1993 with a degree in Biology. He then continued his education at Harcum College and
graduated in 1995 with his Assosicates Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. He worked
as a Physical Therapy Assistant for 12 years and then returned to college at Neumann
University where he graduated in 2007 with his Doctorate Degree in Physical
Therapy. Since he did not have enough education, Sam returned to school at Wilmington
University at received a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in
Healthcare Administration in 2013.
Sam started work as a PTA in a nursing home in Philadelphia. He currently works as the
Lead Physical Therapist at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware. He works primarily
doing aquatic physical therapy. He strives to ensure progress and positive outcomes with
every patient encounter.
Sam and his wife, Meredith reside in Middletown with their two children, Bethany and James
David. Sam has an older daughter who is currently residing in Swathmore, PA. He is a
history buff who loves learning about the Civil War. He enjoys traveling and working in his
in-home workshop.
Jennifer Hubert Taylor, Vice-Chairperson
Founding Board Member
Jennifer was born and raised in Texas, where all of her family still
remain. She spent her senior year of high school abroad,
studying at the Christelijk Lyceum Arnhem in Arnhem, The
Netherlands, and she speaks almost fluent Dutch. In 1997,
Jennifer graduated from the University of Delaware with a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in
Education.
Before becoming a "mostly stay-at-home" mom, Jennifer held
positions in two private firms and one nonprofit organization, as
a public relations and educational consultant. She is the former
Assistant Director of the Delaware Charter Schools Network, Inc. Jennifer is involved in a
variety of community service works, and has spent many years working on public education
reform in Delaware.
In particular, Jennifer is passionate about providing children with opportunities to discover
their own gifts and develop a love of learning. She concentrates her energy on encouraging
schools to educate "thinkers" and invest in a well-rounded and humanities-rich
curriculum. She is also a committed advocate for library enrichment and expansion.
Jennifer is an avid traveler, reader, and cook. She and her husband James have three
children: Carson (9), Shepard (7), and Clay (3). They reside in Middletown, Delaware.
Dave Watlington
Dave received his Bachelors Degree from the University of
Delaware in 1998 and joined First USA Bank as a Unit Specialist
responsible for supporting employee goals, ensuring card member
satisfaction and minimizing risk. In 2000, Dave became an
Operations Manager at PFPC Global Fund Services and was
responsible for corporate client satisfaction and employee
development.
In 2003, Dave joined Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate as a Sales
Associate. In 2007, Dave was named Assistant Sales Manager and
Director of Training for the Newark Residential Sales Center. Dave
is licensed as an Associate Broker in Delaware and as a Residential
Sales Associate in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Dave and his wife Christie reside in Middletown with their 3 children Madison, Hailey, and
Luke. Middletown offers the sense of community that Dave and Christie were looking for
when they decided to move. When they were looking at the options for their children’s’
education MOT Charter School was at the top. “Our children are making improvements
everyday. I truly believe it is a result of the learning environment that MOT Charter School
has created. That is why I feel so strongly about being involved and supporting the school
through volunteering with the MOT PTO.” Dave has been involved with the PTO since 2008.
Brad Willis
Brad Willis received his DVM from Kansas State University in 1989 after completing his BSA
in Domestic Animal Biology at the University of Arkansas.
He moved from Louisiana to Delaware and joined QPS, LLC, a worldwide pharmaceutical
contract research organization, in August of 2002. Brad serves as their Attending
Veterinarian and Manager of their Animal Resources Group and animal vivarium. Prior to
joining QPS, he worked for 9 years as a Research Associate and Laboratory Manager for the
Departments of Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics and Physiology at the Louisiana State
University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Brad also served as Consultant
Veterinarian for Fabgennix, Inc., and served in the U.S. Army as the Officer in Charge of all
5 military (Army, Navy and Air Force) Animal Disease Prevention and Control (ADPAC)
Facilities in Louisiana.
Brad enjoys writing, singing, coaching little league baseball, travelling and woodworking. He
and his wife Elena (a teacher in the Appoquinimink School District) have two children at
MOT: Daria in 7th grade and Daniel in 4th. Brad has been active within MOT as an Odyssey
of the Mind coach, Science Olympiad team coordinator and coach, and classroom presenter
(animal anatomy). He and Elena have been strong proponents of the new high school for
years and he’s excited to see MOT grow in this direction!
