Basket Roll
Time: 5-6 minutes
Objective: to make it across the court before the other player
Amount of Players: 4 and up
Rules:
Step 1: Players will break into two teams. The teams must have the same amount of players.
Step 2: Each team will elect one player as team-captain. The two team-captains will each roll a
dice to determine their team’s role in the game. The team who rolls black will become the home team
and their job is to use the basket ball to win the game. While the team who rolls red will be the away
team and they must use the dice to win the game. If necessary, keep rolling until you have opposite
colors.
Step 3: Both team captains will begin at the 1st position marked warm up. The team captain of
the home team will yell “START” and the game begins.
Step 4: The job of the player from the home team is to shoot the ball into the basket from his
position. He is not allowed to step out of bounds or move on to the next position until he has successfully
scored a point.
The job of the player from the away team is to roll the dice until he gets the number of his position
two times. He is also not allowed to step out of bounds or move on until he until he rolls the number of his
position twice(does not have to be in a row)
The players who are not currently on the court are allowed to assist their teammate by cheering
them on, or retrieving the basket ball/ dice if it rolls away. However, they are not allowed to roll the dice
or shoot the ball until it is their turn.
The positions are listed in order bellow.
1st position: Warm up- roll a 1 twice
2nd position: Game play- roll a 2 twice
3rd position: Halftime- roll a 3 twice
4th Postion: Gameplay- roll a 4 twice
5th Position: Last Quarter- roll a 5 twice
6th position: Overtime- roll a 6 twice
Step 5: Once the player has successfully rolled the number two times or scored in the basket
he/she will move on to the next position and play from there. Once the player makes it all the way, from
the warm up position to the over time position, they will tag in someone from their team, give them the
dice(if they are the away team) or the ball(hometeam) and the new player will run to the first position
and begin playing.
Winning the game: The team keeps playing until every player has made it through all the
positions. First team to finish wins. Enjoy!
