Thomas Hopkinson Student ID: c3383898 What is my Jungian16 type personality? I answered two questionnaires one via Careerstest.net and a questionnaire in the book “self-assessment library” by (Robbins, 2008). The personality test that I used was based on the type theory first discussed by Carl Jung and developed by Myers and Briggs in the 20th century. The type theory allows students understand their preferences and find the right jobs which match with their capabilities (Ayoubi and Ustwani, 2014, p78). Figure 1 Personality type results (Careerstest.net, n.d) The questionnaire puts people in different categories such as Extroverted or Introverted (E or I), sensing or intuitive (S or N), thinking or feeling (T or F) and perceiving or judging (P or J). After answering the questions, the results showed that my personality was ISTJ; the interpretation of this personality by (Robbins, 2008, p6) is “You’re organized, compulsive, private, trustworthy, and practical. It also gives potential careers as accountant, office manager, tax agent, business manager. As well as this Careerstest.net shows some flaws with this personality saying “if the stress becomes overwhelming, ISTJ’s become immobilized and cannot fill the responsibilities that they consider necessary for rightful membership within their community.” As well as “They become incapacitated by concerns of a bankruptcy. ISTJ's may then further increase their attention on the details of the situation that is causing them stress. This sometimes results in accusations by those around them that the ISTJ is becoming over-demanding, irritable, inflexible, and impatient with others.” (Careerstest.net, n.d.) However there can be some problems with this data, for example it is outline by () “is that they can describe self-perceptions or perhaps even calculated self-presentations, not personality or behaviour”. Unlike this problem I have answered these questionnaires honestly and not at all a Machiavellian approach to answering the questions.
