Year Three: Autumn Term 2 Home Learning Grid Over the next half term you should choose 6 activities to complete (1 activity per week). The activities are split across various subjects, each with a different skills focus. You must choose at least one of the activities from each of the different subjects over this half term. You can choose the order in which you complete these activities. However, you must give one piece of work in on the Wednesday of each week. Please keep this sheet in your book bag and get a parent to sign each activity when completed (these will be checked). IMPORTANT: you must also read with an adult at least 5 times a week which must be noted in the reading record and practise your spellings for a spelling test on Thursdays. Remember, presentation is important! Time English Diary Cooking We have noticed a large number of children are finding telling and writing the time challenging. Your first task is to create a device to tell and display the time (doesn’t have to be fully functional). This could be a clock, a sun dial or something more creative. Additionally it would be great to aid and support your child to be able to tell the time (at least till the nearest five minutes) on an analogue and digital clock. As much practice as possible here is best. Magnets Create a list of as many things around your house that contain magnets or use magnetism. Be careful as some magnets will not look like the magnets used at school and some you will not be able to see at all. For example speakers include magnets. Your task is to keep a diary for a whole week (seven days). You should write at least two sentences for each day and include some details about what you did and how you felt. Remember Another adult will read this diary. Also it should be written in the first person and the past tense.
