Evaluation Sonia Hodgetts and her team approached Lion about their program for Jobs of the Future – it is an industry based initiative designed to inform students about jobs of the future and course pathways in key Tasmanian food industries where innovation, entrepreneurship and excellence is taking place. Through direct exposure to local food industries, industry leaders and speakers from UTAS, the project aims to expose students to leading innovators and innovations in the food industry As lion has just completed a major upgrade of the facility with state of the art machinery and is a major employer of the local area, this was a great opportunity to show case the variety of employment that we have on offer. Students had a short tour of the factory and then followed up with talk with a few of our employees about what we do here on site. The students were engaged in what was being presented to them as they had a project to complete which was to create a cheese platter for an instagram page . I thought the students did an excellent job with their projects and I am sure they have learned a lot about the food industry in Tasmania. I was happy to participate in such a worthwhile and well‐structured concept to support and develop our youth.
