Immediate Function in extraction sites – proven concept

Immediate Function in extraction
sites – proven concept with high
patient satisfaction.
Science First
Better soft tissue results
Immediate Function of implants placed in extraction sites is
a proven concept with predictable outcomes for implants
with TiUnite surface. It has the potential to improve esthetic
results and increase patient satisfaction.1 In addition, it
shortens healing times, decreases the number of required
appointments and reduces costs.
Immediate placement combined with Immediate Function has a
positive effect not only on marginal bone levels, but also esthetics,9–12
since immediate restoration preserves pink esthetics.11,12 If primary
implant stability permits, implants should therefore be instantly
provisionalized in the interest of optimal soft tissue esthetics.12
Survival rates comparable to healed sites
High patient satisfaction
Long-term studies with 5 to 10 years follow-up show cumulative
survival rates (CSR) of 96.5% to 100% for immediately loaded
implants placed in extraction sites for any indication.2,3,4 No
statistically significant differences could be observed in prospective
studies with >1 year follow-up on TiUnite implants in fresh extraction
versus healed sites.3,5,6
Significant improvements in patient self-ratings of self-esteem,
function, esthetics, sense and speech, right after implant insertion
and at delivery of the final prosthesis.1,13
Stable or increasing marginal bone levels
Minimal marginal bone change after implant insertion followed by
stable or increasing bone levels.1,2,4,8
Studies with tapered implants such as NobelActive,1,11
NobelReplace10,12 and Replace Select 2,8,11 show excellent results
with regards to CSR, marginal bone levels, esthetics and patient
satisfaction.
Better soft tissue levels
Immediate loading helps support papilla and
midfacial mucosa levels.

Immediate provisionalization limits midfacial soft tissue loss during the first year
after implant placement compared to delayed loading.11
Published clinical studies confirm the reliable performance of TiUnite implants with Immediate Function in extraction sites.
They include 1275 TiUnite implants in nearly 620 patients in various indications, with follow-up times of up to 10 years.
