GENESEO COMMUNITY PLAYERS
RICHARD W. STORY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Geneseo Community Players (GCP) annually presents a $250 scholarship to a college student
involved in technical theater and design. This scholarship is given in memory of Dick Story,
technical theater wizard who could create anything out of nothing. He was also very skilled at
repairing anything that broke so it could be used again.
The applicant must be active in the theatre arts during his or her college career. Consideration
will be given to applicants with Geneseo Community Players experience. Geneseo Community
Players is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to entertain and
educate the community through the production of professional-quality, live theatre by and for
those who love it, and actively cultivate interest and involvement in this organization. We offer
financial assistance to students who have participated in the theatre arts and who may be
interested in receiving further education in that field. However, a theatre arts major is not
required to qualify for the scholarship.
