HEAD START REGISTERED DIETICIAN CONSULTANT
CALL FOR BID/PROPOSAL FOR 2017 – 2018
Garvey School District Child Development Office provides nutrition and health services for preschool aged
children and is accepting bids for a Registered Dietician Consultant to work with children and families in our
Head Start program.
 Services would be provided from August 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018
 Contract would require provisions of service to approximately 499 children between the ages of
3 and 4
 Part-time weekly hours to be negotiated
Qualifications Include:
- Registered Dietician (Certified by the Commission of Dietetic Registration)
- Fingerprint clearance through Department of Justice
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a Registered Dietician Consultant with a Head Start Program (desirable)
- TB Clearance and evidence of Tdap, MMR and Influenza vaccination
- Bilingual required (English and Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish or Vietnamese)
Services to be provided include:
- Review completed nutrition screening forms and complete nutrition assessments for children enrolled
and identified with nutritional concerns.
- Provide follow-up and education for all children with identified nutrition concerns.
- Help parents better understand nutrition issues through parent trainings
- Provide nutrition education to staff and teachers.
- Assist the program in identifying and utilizing community nutrition resources
- Provide assistances with ongoing tracking and documentation
- Data entry and analysis
- Attend required Trainings
- Perform other duties in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
