PLAY
Dodge ball’s will be provided by University Recreation
A team consists of 6 players. A minimum of 5 is required to start and continue a game.
Matches consist of 5 games. Games are 8 minutes in duration. Teams will change sides after each
game.
4. The number of balls for a 12 player game is 6.
5. Prior to the match, the referee will conduct a coin toss with both team captains to determine choice
of ends.
6. Players then take a position behind their end line. After a signal by the official, teams approach
the centerlines to retrieve the balls.
7. Balls must be taken back across the end lines before they can be thrown at an opposing player. If
the ball is not taken behind the end line before it is thrown the throw will not count.
8. Players then attempt to eliminate members of the opposing team by tagging them out with the ball.
If a player is hit with any ball that has not yet touched the floor, that player is “out”.
9. Play continues until one team is eliminated. At that point, the referee calls time and awards the
winning team one point for each remaining player.
10. The balls are then reset on the centerline and play resumes when the whistle is blown.
11. When time runs out both teams are awarded points for all remaining players.
