Next steps in the Player Pathway

Tuesday 1 November 2016
Dear Player
Congratulations on all you have achieved to date, by simply making it to Tier 2 you have demonstrated a level of
commitment and ability of which you should be proud. Each of you will undertake a very different journey to
unlock your full potential.
You will now be aware of the players who have been invited for further development within the National Age
Group programmes. If you are not being taken forward into the National Age Groups at this time, you will have
opportunities across Performance Centres, Clubs and your School environment to keep working hard on your
development.
Next steps are as follows:NAGS Players
Players being taken forward will receive a formal email by 5pm on Tuesday 1 November 2016. Please read
through the information carefully and respond where requested. Players will receive a further email towards the
end of November advising them of their allocated Performance Centre.
U15 HiPAC and U16 Futures Cup
All players including non-travelling reserves will be allocated a place in one of 17 Performance Centres. Further
information will be communicated towards the end of November.
U17 HiPAC
All players including non-travelling reserves will be allocated a place in one of 17 Performance Centres. Further
information will be communicated towards the end of November.
Players born on or between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2000 who have not been selected into the NAGS
Programme will receive an email inviting them to take a place on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting
Excellence (AASE) Programme.
U18 Futures Cup
Players born on or between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2000 who have not been selected into the NAGS
Programme will receive an email inviting them to take a place on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting
Excellence (AASE) Programme.
Players born on or between 1 September 1999 and 31 December 1999 who elect not to take a place on the
AASE Programme will return to their club and school environments and will not be allocated a place in the
Performance Centres. Each year National League clubs are invited to nominate players for U21/ Development
Programme assessment. These nominations provide a possible route for players who are too old for Player
Pathway activity to be considered for U21/ Development Programme activity.
Eligible players including non-travelling reserves will be allocated a place in one of 17 Performance Centres.
This information will be communicated towards the end of November.
Feedback from Tier 2 Activity
All players who attended either HiPAC or Futures Cup will receive written feedback from their coach. Players
should receive feedback no later than Friday 18 November 2016. We would urge players to share their
feedback with coaches who you work with on a frequent basis in either your club or school environment.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the remainder of the season and look forward
to seeing many of you at Performance Centres in 2017.
Yours sincerely
