Our students will lead and shape the future
Many schools moving on to FIRST LEGO League robotics semifinals
Teams advancing to semifinals will be competing in Seattle this month
Eighty FIRST LEGO League robotics teams,
representing every elementary and middle school
in Everett Public Schools, gathered on Dec. 3 and
4 for the regional competition at Glacier Peak
High School in Snohomish, Wash.
In addition to spending an entire day
programming a robot to complete complex
missions, students were also asked to present a
research project and a solution to their identified
problem. Students from FIRST LEGO League
robotics high school teams at all three
comprehensive high schools also served as
volunteers and mentors at the competition.

Gateway Middle earned Best Robot
Design and fifth place in the robot
competition with 68 points. They’ve
qualified for the semifinals.
Whittier Elementary Robo Geeks Blue
was awarded the Teamwork Award for
Core Values.

FIRST LEGO League regional results (continued):

Mill Creek Elementary’s team Directed Chaos won a Judge’s Award. Team
“#Hashbrowns” won the Inspirational Award and both teams are heading to the semifinals.
Silver Lake Elementary Hungry Pigs were recognized for Gracious Professionalism.
Heatherwood Middle School Heatherbotics received the Best Visual award. Team
Hawkbots was awarded Gracious Professionalism and placed well enough to advance to
the semifinals.
Evergreen Middle’s 7th/8th-grade team received FIRST Washington Official Qualifier
medals. The 6th-grade team took sixth place overall and is moving on to the semifinals.
Forest View Elementary’s Falcon 2 won a Judge’s Award and is advancing to the
semifinals.
