Fargo North Athletics are proud to host the 6th annual “Stick It To Cancer” Hockey Games and
Fundraiser on Tuesday, February 9. Hometown hockey rivals Fargo North, Fargo South/Shanley,
and Davies hockey teams will battle it out on the ice as they raise funds to battle cancer.
Special guests have been selected to drop the first puck for the varsity games. Cancer survivors
and Fargo Public School students Eva Unger and Cameron Bye will drop the puck for the girls’
game at 5:15 p.m., and the 2012 Fargo North State Championship hockey team and coaching
staff will do the honors for the 7:30 p.m. boys’ game in honor of Zach Kraft, a former player who lost his battle against
brain cancer in November, 2015.
Other special guests include the Davies High School Pep Band, the South High School Pep Band, and North High senior
Abi Pladson, who will sing the National Anthem.
In addition to the hockey action, Tuesday’s event will include t-shirt sales, a silent auction organized by the hockey
families, 50/50 raffle, bake sale, and “Miracle Minute” donations.
Hockey games begin at:
4:45 p.m.
Junior Varsity Boys - Fargo South/Shanley vs. Fargo North at Fowler Rink, Southwest Arena
5:15 p.m.
Varsity Girls - Fargo North/South Girls vs. Davies Girls at Scheels Arena
7:30 p.m.
Varsity Boys - Fargo South/Shanley vs. Fargo North at Scheels Arena
Funds raised through admission fees and the other activities will be donated to the Dakota Medical Foundation
Lend-A-Hand program, to support Cass and Clay County families experiencing a cancer-related medical crisis. Last
year’s Stick It To Cancer event raised $26,934, which was then matched by Dakota Medical Foundation.
The Lend-A-Hand program helps caring community members raise funds for families experiencing a medical crisis. All
contributions to the initiative are distributed in Cass and Clay counties. For more information, visit
