Rugby World Cup
Fanzone
Message from
Mr Bovingdon
Wow! What a fun and
busy term we are having.
As well as the excellent
day to day teaching and
learning, we have had
some fantastic activities,
clubs and trips.
Our ever growing
Montessori continues to
flourish and it is fantastic
to see the pre-prep
becoming a big part of
our school.
A great afternoon was had at the Rugby
World Cup Fanzone. The whole school
made the trip and were able to participate
in lots of rugby related activities, as well as
have their photos taken with the William
Webb Ellis Cup.
Please tune in regularly
to the school website to
watch the St Wilfrid’s
BBC News Report. Very
informative and
entertaining.
I would like to express
my thanks to all the
pupils, parents and staff
who have provided such
great support over the
last four weeks. Lots of
changes have happened
and I appreciate the
fantastic feedback.
@St_Wilfrids
Six lucky parents and pupils also received
tickets to watch game at Sandy Park:
Tonga Vs Namibia. I hope they have had an
excellent time!

Year 7 Motte & Bailey Castle
Visit
Year 10 & 11 RAMM Visit
On Friday 18th September, some of the pupils made a
visit to the RAMM.
Whilst there, they were able to draw several species
of birds to put into their GCSE Art portfolios.
Year 7 have been studying the Norman invasion of
England in 1066. They have looked at the build up to
the Norman Conquest and have now been paying
attention to how the Norman’s managed to take
control of England.
We have been doing an indepth study into the Motte
& Bailey castles used by King William to take control
of Saxon England.
We visited Rougemont Castle in Exeter and were
able to witness a real life Motte & Bailey castle.
We saw a moat, a motte, a bailey and a keep. We
also saw the place where the last witches of England
were sentenced.
Compost Curriculum
Kestrels are making progress with the Compost Curriculum during their outdoor learning lessons. The
compost bin is almost complete! Resourcefully, the Kestrels have built it entirely out of recycled pallets and
other recycled materials.
